It's not miniscule and in fact if you don't have TH4 or a good solo job you'll probably make as much from standing in town porting people as you would have farming beastman blood or whatever it is you people farm nowadays. But for this to work you have to spend a bunch on time on it, I think Aquilo86 was talking about random requests.

I had a guy ask me in campaign if I would raise him yesterday, while I was on THF and not /anon. I swear to God, this actually happened. I don't even know how this type of shit happens sometimes, but I doubt that /anon would have prevented it.

I say, if the person isn't a friend of yours or in your LS, get what you can, because the general public is going to try to get whatever they can from whoever they can get it from.

The way i see it, it takes 5-10 seconds to warp somone maybe 10-20 seconds to teleport, if a person asks for a d2 right next to you and you are just standing there, what sense does it make to charge them? all in all you can just easily ignore them, which i'v done, and they ussualy go on about there way.

Now if i am standing somewhere and out of no where i get a tell asking me to warp you and you are at VE spawn point in dunes i wont even bother unless it IS something worth going for, my thing about this is, taking 10 seconds to warp someone and charging for it is just plain silly, weather you know them or not, now if you are on your way to say an event, or nm that is about to pop, then at that point they would be taking up your time, but standing there crafting, fishing or standing there digging in your nose and someone asks for a warp and you say "ok how much you going to give?" is the silliest shit ever. if you are THAT impaitent to charge because 10 seconds of your time will be lost then i don't know what to say to that.

I'v had no problem teleporting someone for free if i am already on whm because teleporting and warping back when all i was doing was standing there is no big deal to me, i'v even denied gill offers because i think it's silly. i'd personaly never charge if i feel in the mood to just teleport you, because i have the option of just ignoring you if i am in the middle of something or i don't have time to do it. gill is easy enough to make that i wouldn't take advantage of someone who needs a helping hand.

But the idea of charging to cast a fucking spell is just downright uneeded. If somone offers you gill for it, that's fine, they are choosing to pay you for it, but demanding, or telling them "you don't get shit unless i get money" just looks silly to me.

Did someone in this topic made the distinction between Warp/Retrace and Teleports yet?

One costs you time, possibly money (to warp back or whatever, maybe another silvercoin or 300 gil to get back to your previous location), the other doesn't.

Something to think about: would you give (or at least offer to give) someone money if they halted and cast the desired spell if you asked? I know I would.

If I am omw somewhere and I see a shout for the same Tele, I do it free of charge.

    Friends/LS mates, free of charge.

    /tellers and /shouters, Charge.

Why can't they level BLM sub? It's not like it's hard, you only need 17 and you can get that solo. I got that before I even decided I was gonna level RDM because being able to warp myself when I please is nice. It's even easier now with FoV cause of the tabs.

It was a general estimate used for the purposes of demonstrating potential gil lost from wasting time changing jobs. I don't think it was that unreasonable an estimate either, I know of a method that statistically averages around a mil an hour but requires certain circumstances to be viable(can be spammed). Nothing else is particularly close to that, though there are a lot of good circumstantial money-makers(cuch bc, hagun enm, logging a mule on every 4-6 hours to kill SCNMs, etc).

TLDR; If you're making fun of my estimate of 300-400k/hr, I do know of better ones. If you're calling it impossible, you're not very good at making gil any more.

Oh ya if anyone really enjoys reading bickering on this type of topic you can search the crafting forum, there's been a few multi-page topics on tipping or paying for synths/HQs.

I see no problem in charging for a d2 for someone you don't know. TBH I think that charging an ls member for a synth when they bring the materials is pretty shitty.

Because I've seen so many WHMs get bugged to shit in other zones for a Raise like that so I see no problem with them charging for their time to come scrape your ass up.
Um... why would you do it at all then?

People tend to appreciate free warps, raises, teles, retrace, whatever sometimes. I've just never felt like it was necessary to charge for it, enough people offer to pay.
It doesn't matter though, to each his own.

I haven't really had anyone other than friends asking me to go out of my way to raise them for a while now, just saying that it would be an inconvenience that I'd want payment for. I remember doing that in the past and it got to the point where I wouldn't even answer them if they didn't offer something worth my time.

Depends on the LS member. If its someone you know is being a leech and isn't really around much except when they are in it for themselves - why not, it'd deter the behavior.

I don't think sell/splitting a valuable HQ is a big deal either. If you weren't in it for the HQ in the first place then both parties get a nice surprise.
