01/26 POL Update Breaks Spellcast + Recast

Well, my power went out overnight and all my macros are about 6 months behind the times. If spellcast doesn't work I won't be logging in til it's fixed lol.

"Cannot replace pol.exe" error.

*Edit: fixed; had to log out of FFXI. First time I've had to do so.

Got this too. Thanks, that worked. I usually have two chars running 24/7. I logged my main person out and left mule in Rollomart. Seems you have to log the mule out as well in order to fix this.

I think only the spellcast 2.3 beta or whatever is broken, 2.22 seems to be stable for everyone I know.

SC2.3 work np, only Recast1.73 won't load (error998 ) on Vista32.

People should start posting what version of SpellCast they are using, along with their OS and whether or not Recast/SpellCast is working for them. Prolly can narrow it down fairly quickly like that. Please let Vista64 + SC 2.3 work.... I can't go back to 2.22, my DRK SpellCast crashes it any time I kill a mob and put my weapon up as a buff wears off that does a gear swap (namely aftermath from Apoc). Crashing 4x per Salvage run is not fun.

I'm using XP, spellcast2.3, neither it nor recast is working, I just assumed it was my version. Most my shell isn't having trouble at all with 2.22, hence my earlier post.

I'm glad I'm still using Spellcast 2.22! My crappy xml breaks with 2.3+ and I still use autoexec to equip resting gear and idle gear coz I'm too stupid to understand how autosets work. So ya, 2.22 still works it seems yay.

It seems like the newest version of the SpellCast 2.30 beta does not work, but one of the older betas does. So some people being not totally up-to-date explains why some are working with 2.30, and some aren't.

Someone in the windower IRC just uploaded their older (working) 2.30 beta, so if you want to use that for now, here it is: http://whitewing.gtxgaming.co.uk/Dow.../spellcast.dll

It may be slightly less functional than the most-recent version, though I'm not sure how exactly. We're not sure exactly which version it is. But at least it'll work.

Confirming that for me Spellcast 2.22 works fine for me also, 2.30 gives 998 error, Win 7.

Of course, i relog to fix the ime stuck in jp bug, and 30 secs later find this thread and realize recast is borked QQ

Spellcast 2.3 works fine for me though.
