01/26 POL Update Breaks Spellcast + Recast

Did this update also break windower for Windows 7? I just recieved my new computer today with Windows 7 and I am unable to use windower. I downloaded the lastest version that says compatible, however when I start it up I am given normal Play Online and full screen FFXI

Run it as administrator.

Right click, select run as administrator.

This happened to me when I deleted the POL music files, I couldn't run POL until I put the disc in and let it reinstall them. I never did figure out how to keep the volume at 0 when I log in a second account, so I just keep the speakers off until I'm actually in the game now. Maybe your issue is similar.

My gear is swapping like it should for my spells but every time the following message pops in my log: "Your XML is outdated. <rule> has been removed and you must use <if> now. Canceling parse of rules." It's still parsing my rules because they are ALL <if> or <elseif> but it's really annoying. WTF is wrong?

There are apparently two 1.73 Recast's floating around, I believe.

1) Written by Starhawk. It should still be valid/working

2) Written by Starhawk then compressed/packed like crazy by Aikar and released. This appears to be the broken one.

Both would be valid windower "official" plugins.

If I figure anything else out, I'll let you know, but I haven't talked to Aikar in a while.

My husband's account d/ced a little bit ago, and the "T for Teen" thing popped up after that SE warning about "Don't forget your friends and family." It wasn't there when I logged us in several hours ago.

Is there a spot I can find a description of the tag language used in SpellCast 2.22? I know there was the automated thing you could pop your old xmls into to update them for 2.30, but I don't remember wtf it looked like for 2.22 to change it back to work for that. 2.22 is technically working for g/f but it isn't actually doing any of her swaps or anything.

Thats exactly where I got it as well. Spaghetti code ftl? or some requirement by the ESRB board? who knows

Yeah, that doesn't work for me either. Firefox saves some 300ish byte file that looks like a .dll, but gives that 193 error when you try to load. IE won't even save it when you try Right Click/Save As because it says it can't find the website.



Edit: Dowloaded from a link on the Windower Form and it worked fine.
