BG MATH I need your help with Statistics.

I'm sorry I'm making one of these topics but I'm struggling here.

Researchers recorded facts about 77 breakfast cereals. We wish to develop a model that will predict the overall calories based on the sugar content. The mean and standard deviation for calories was 107.0 and 19.5. The mean and standard deviation for sugar was 7.0 and 4.4. The correlation between the two was 0.564.

so we are given 2 means and 2 standard deviations, and the correlation. How do I put this into my calculator (ti-83+) so that I can find the linear regression line, and so I can graph the data?

Any help would be extremely helpful. I know how to do it all with actual tables of data, but I dont know what to do to get date with just the mean and Standard deviation.

Ý(t) = a + bX(t)
where:

b = r(STDEV(Y)/STDEV(X))
a = AVERAGE(Y) - b(AVERAGE(X))

Using your numbers.

b= .564 (19.5/4.4) = 2.4995
a = 107.0 - 2.4995 * 7.0 = 89.503

so Y = 89.503 + 2.4995X
