yea I gotta say, the CG and the art style makes it look... really campy, like nearly as bad as the 3rd/4th batman movie. I really hope they do some focus testing and change the CG if necessary but I don't really have a good feeling about this one, as much as I was hoping it'd be awesome and want to make sweet love to ryan reynolds

The movie isn't supposed to come out till next summer right? I guess that is enough time to touch up the cg parts. The suit Hal is wearing in(I assume) his room looks really bad, especially the mask.

The problem with that idea (hope), is that there'd be so much to touch up -- specifically every Lantern.

    Agree about the scene in his (presumably) apartment. Watched it a few times and noticed it looks weird around his abs.. can't unsee it now >.> <.<;

Ryan Reynolds seems bit of a douche for the role, always imagined Green Lantern as more mature superhero

Hal Jordan is supposed to be serious, Kyle is supposed to be kinda silly
Ryan Reynolds would have been a perfect kyle

Ryan Reynolds is going to be in way too many Superhero movies... I would also rather have seen Nathan Fillion or someone older play Green Lantern. Reynolds is better off as Deadpool.

The costume just looks awful. Went way overboard on ever emphasizing the male physique. Looks like he's running around like this guy...

Don't get me started on Green Hornet, either. Seth Rogen? Have studios not learned from Dark Knight? We don't want a comedy movie.

Gonna be on par with Iron Man 2. Decent at best. I'll still watch it though. Lol.

Agree with the CG thing...something else has me pretty confused though.

The caption under the trailer lists the villain as being Parallax...isn't Parallax the villain Hal Jordan later becomes? Also I'd assume they'd use Sinestro as the villain, and Sinestro is clearly in the trailer....so I'm just a bit lost here. I'm not the best with Green Lantern lore but still.

I can't think of his name but he has a big forehead is the villain, that becomes that way because of parallax.

I dont mind a comedy movie, as long as it is well done.

Each emotion has one sort of avatar creature to it, willpower, thats what the GL are powered by have one called Ion. Fear, which is what Sinestro's lanterns are powered by, has Parallax. Lanterns have "fused" with the beings before, Kyle and Sodam Yat with Ion, and Hal and parallax being the main ones. With them they become ridiculously powerfull, which allows Hal to murder most of the lanterns.

I'm hoping the movie doesn't try to have to much plot, having Sinestro go from good to bad in one movie when he is not the main villain might be a bad idea.

Suit looks fine in the trailer all the way up to the apartment scene. Probably cuz of the lighting.

Probably trying to copy the Iron Man success with a playboy hero.

The guy with the bighead is the villain, the one who got infected by some of the Hulk Juice? He got infected in the Hulk movie.

Are you saying the actor or the comic book character? This is a DC movie not Marvel, and I'm not sure if that is the same actor.

All has been quite on the "Green Lantern" movie front. We got a trailer a while back and that's about it.

I've been on the hunt for this story for a hot minute and I got from it two sources tonight, that although at press time not a done deal but that...

Michael Clarke Duncan is in talks to voice KILOWOG, a towering member of the Green Lantern Corps who is the primary trainer of the Corps' newest recruits.

You can spot him in the trailer breathing down Hal Jordan's neck.

Because I got the tip after hours, I couldn't really confirm through normal channels.

I think Michael Clarke Duncan would be an absolutely solid choice for the character.

Here’s a little bio on the character.

Kilowag is one of the many Green Lanterns in the DC Universe. He is known as one of the smartest and toughest of all of the Green Lanterns.

As a gifted scientist from the planet Bolovax Vik, Kilowog was found and recruited by the Guardian of the Universe. Along with serving as the Green Lantern of sector 674, Kilowog helped train Hal Jordan who is known for being the most impressive and well-known green lantern.

Kilowog's home planet was blown up during the "Crisis on Infinite Earths" series. He was able to save them all by storing their life essences into his ring before the explosion. Years later he found a suitable replacement for Bolovax Vik in a different sector. But as soon as he resurrected all of the citizens of the new Bolovax Vik, the Green Lantern Sinestro destroyed the planet permanently killing everyone, which led to Kilowog's temporary insanity.

Geoffrey Rush is back in the mode of demanding teacher — but instead of a king’s speech therapist, the Aussie actor will be Tomar-Re, a bird-beaked alien who teaches Ryan Reynolds’ character how to use his new cosmic powers in “Green Lantern.”

Warner Bros. is expected to officially announce Thursday that the 59-year-old Oscar winner is giving voice to the CG-created member of the Green Lantern Corps, the intergalactic peace-keeping force that gets its first earthling member in Hal Jordan (Reynolds). Rush’s character — introduced in the pages of DC Comics in 1961 — is a scientist on his home planet and almost spiritual in his tutelage of Jordan even if his reptilian-chicken visage might suggest someone more, um, peckish.

Rush — one of the just 25 actors who have won an Oscar, a Tony and an Emmy – is coming off an Academy Award nomination for “The King’s Speech” and this summer he returns – for a fourth time — to the buccaneer role of Barbossa in the latest installment of Disney’s massive “Pirates of the Caribbean” franchise.

“Green Lantern,” directed by Martin Campbell (“Casino Royale“), arrives in theaters June 17 with costars Blake Lively, Mark Strong and Peter Sarsgaard. The film represents a pivotal moment for Warner Bros. as the first release under a new initiative to better exploit the DC universe and with the studio’s plan to push forward with a Justice League film that would presumably include Reynolds in the Green Lantern role.
