What if I don't want Nativity scenes playing in my browser? I don't care to see naked baby Jesuses (Jesii?) on my computer.

Enough with the lack of flash... What the iPhone and ipad need is smudge resistant hardware. 5 minutes of use and my iPhone is fucking covered with prints. I want a nexus one. I'm sick of this man. Next iPhone needs video chat, huge oled display and all in all better hardware along with an OS revamp.

A friend of mine (Mark Dowd) was the one who found that super tricksy vulnerability in flash back in 2007. He said to me recently that there are tonnes of those sorts of things all through it and that it's a pile of crap. It's terribly insecure and the laziness of Adobe just keeps adding more insecurity as they bloat it up. Apparently they're terrible at addressing insecurities too -- very slow to get back to people that find them and report them. My friend works for the white hat crew, there are plenty more who work for the highest bidder.

Flash might have some issues, but I'd wager the reason Apple doesn't support it is because it could compete with their apps store. How many people do you think would simply just find a similar Flash app via the internet?

Steve Jobs was only really a good salesman, nothing more. Don't get me wrong, some Apple products are very aesthetically pleasing, but I wouldn't say that anything is revolutionary unless it's truly the first of its kind.

Also, I'd question anybody who thinks that iTunes was ever a good idea. The whole AAC container is just a load of shit

Nah, that isn't going to happen...the ipad is restricted to install what is only available on the app store. Apple has given up on adobe flash, no way will they approve an app that allows flash to undermine their major choice to leave it out on purpose.

Being salesman is important in todays world. I'm pretty sure Mac users were much happier before Apple decided to go into the mainstream, but they had to do that. Microsoft had nearly complete dominance on market, every computer you buy was coming with Windows installed. There is a huge number of what I'd call, not so informed Mac users out there. Would they be geniuses today if they were forced to use MS? No. Half of regular MS users don't even bother with installing virus programs and regular security stuff when its actually quite easy to avoid hackings (I've never, ever had any major problems with viruses and I've been using MS for over 20 years now), etc. in first place. Is it their fault? Probably. Is it bad for Apple to target those people for more sales? I don't think so, its business.

There were many ways to get around the dominance of MS for tech-savy people like me, like Linux, OS Classic, etc(or simply MS, if you like it). but its the regular people out there that's the target of companies. I don't even recall seeing a MS ad before Apple pushed into the market because...well, they didn't have to.

Same with Firefox. IE was a piece of shit and remained like that until Firefox aggressively forced itself into the market. Then, MS woke up and started making improvements on their browser.

Still, its one of the worst browsers out there and yet, has the lead on the market.

I don't like Apple ads, I don't like the way they market their products...but its their market strategy. And you have to explore every avenue in order to compete.

About aesthetics...I always liked darker notebooks more. If I had to pick a computer solely for the appearance, I'd pick Sony.

EDIT: About iPad...lol, I think it'll sell quite well. Today I was at a Nashville bookstore to buy The Economist and TIME. The Eco had iPad on its cover, and the cashier lady started talking about how wonderful iPad is and how it'll appeal to the e-book readers. I countered with e-ink argument and stuff, but I don't even think she knew what it was...She said Kindle is just "too slow".
