They have it set up through AT&T, but it's no contract pre-paid. Also said it's unlocked so if your carrier uses micro-sim you can pop a card in.

Dunno, Jobs just breifly mentioned it's unlocked out of the box and that if a carrier uses micro-sim you can pop it in.

Unless it's really inexpensive I don't see how this is anything but a way to milk an existing IP. If i wanted a super light screen thing to take w/e I go, I'd get the Mac Air (or w/e that super light laptop is called). This is limited by the Ipod/Iphone OS that is extremely restrictive (unless u want to unlock it), and you can't do anything w/it that u can't do w/an Iphone. Yeah it has a bigger screen and better interfacing for certain app's. But if I DL a game on it will it be HUEG w/the same resolution as u would get on an Iphone? Of course not lol

It's basically a game console that focuses on the other stuff. You have prepackaged Apps that cover basic computing needs and entertainment, simplified controls, preset data plans, and so on. To a point, it's exactly the kind of end-user experience Apple pushes for the home already with their first-party apps. Only one that they completely control software installations on via the App Store as well (well, until someone hacks it).

Or, again, it's a netbook. Apple style.

They said it's unlocked so you can use other SIMs. So I assume it'll have some ability to swap 'em.

It has the same 30 pin connector the iPhone has so you can use all the same iPhone accessories.
