The 5k check could have been the first after she won. The article really isn't clear what kind of lottery she won, but lots offer a lump-sum that is often much less, or payments for the rest of your life (or something like that)

Has anyone in this thread been considerate enough to congratulate the husband?
Ruthless. The lot of you. lmao.
I did not miss the C.
The C was not necessary. I definitely got the "car-ma" joke out of the guy saying karma.
This is why Ohio is terrible. Even if you win, you lose.
Now thats irony..."At least she didn't die with millions in her pocket!"
Jesus Christ most of you are anti-social twats. Have any of you actually been to a bar or drank socially with friends before? Not everyone at a bar is a raging alcoholic.
no one made that argument...
yeah, I'm saving face
it definitely wasn't the most obvious joke imaginable or anything
hrm, sounds to me like someone that thinks he's the world's wittiest man (morgan freeman is HILARIOUS the 500,000th time let me tell you) is saving face for not catching it in the first place...
Just because you're at a bar, does not mean you're in a dangerous location lol. Also, if I won the lottery, you better bet I'm gonna be celebrating with my friends as well...most likely in a bar, buying the drinks.
This however, is the best post:
Jesus Christ what imagery comes to mind when you hear of a woman that got run over late one night walking on the side of the road who had been drinking at a bar just after winning (to her) a shit ton of money?
I doubt she was sipping a single glass of fucking campaign. Don't bring butthurt into the thread. Put two and two together.
wat? Where in that article does it say the woman was insanely intoxicated and stumbled into a street? In NYC I almost get hit by cars daily, and I'm not even drunk.
Also, if you know anything about insurance, regardless of what state of mind/condition the pedestrian is in, the fault will ALWAYS go to the driver.
