Some of these trophies have awesome names. Godhand and Splinter Cell reference.
    Animaniacs as well!
Wish I had some extra disposable income. I'd pick this game up tomorrow.
Rising Dead 2, Force Unleashed 2, Naruto, Vanquish, way too many games I want to get, but no money to do so!

Huge fucking lol from Jim Sterling of Destrutiod. If you were unaware of how much of an incompetent fuck he was, well now is an opportune time to learn. Vanquish got a 5/10 from him(though review has disappeared - maybe embargo issue). Maybe he REALLY didn't like the length? Well here is the only excerpt I was able to find:

Despite the bombast and flair, Vanquish is actually a rather run-of-the-mill shooter that manages to devolve its genre, rather than evolve it. For instance, Sam's rocket gliding ability is governed by an energy meter. His melee attacks are governed by the same meter. Yes, you read that right, Sam actually needs energy to punch his opponents, and once he's landed a successful punch, he can't glide away since the energy meter completely drains. Several times, I punched an enemy, failed to kill it thanks to Sam's lack inability aim his punches properly, and was killed because I could neither defend myself or swiftly escape.

So what does this mean for the overall game? It means that, when you get down to it, Vanquish is just another cover shooter with shallow gimmicks that have no applicable use. Sam's glide ability is only useful for escaping (or trying to), since there's no point getting up close and killed because you have no power left. Any thoughts you had of sliding toward an enemy, murdering him in a flurry of punches, and deftly sliding away like an awesome space ninja better be abolished from your head -- everything you do in this game makes you vulnerable, weak, and ultimately dead.
So basically he down right sucks at the game. If you haven't played the demo(s) to any level of competency, just look at youtube videos to understand why. You don't even lose energy when you miss a melee attack! What is most perplexing is that he makes it seem like there is no middle ground between suicide melee attacks and cover-shooting - the game sells itself on that middle ground. Has he not seen a trailer?

The only thing I'm worried about is the inability to get the full fun factor out of the game initially because all of the cool stuff looks hard to do (aka the professional video run of the demo). Lol

B+ (This guy actually talks about boosting to an enemy and meleeing only to die. Then he LEARNS not to and moves on. Amazing, he's a human being!)

Game Informer gave it a 7.75, not a 7.5... what a difference lol.

Launch Trailer: (Probably the last one)

On a personal note I picked up my copy but I have some school stuff to settle first. Probably will pull an late-nighter on wednesday if this thing can really be cleared in less than 8 hours. Also accidentally almost got a gamestop employee fired because I brought the fact he missed my preorder bonus codes lol. Was awkward.

Is that a speedrun? It'd suck if it's that short because the game looks badasss.

Probably not that fast if you play on the hardest difficulty.

Still not worth the cost though Gotta wait for it to get cheaper.

Damn, that kinda sucks. Does it have a decent online coop, vs, etc?

Yeah as much as I really wanna get this game, I'm having a tough time trying to justify paying full price for it.

That doesn't tell me anything. The timer doesn't count retries or cutscenes. Moreover it does seem like a faster run compared to what reviews are reporting.

Yea people talking about the length of this game either haven't played it, or are just jumping onto the "let's complain about length bandwagon". I played on normal difficulty and about 3 hours later I've only beaten one boss. And as mentioned, it doesn't count retries or anything, so actual playtime is way more than the reported final time.

Besides, after you beat it, there's hard difficulty, as well as the challenges that unlock. Overall playability of the game is wayyyy more than people are giving it credit for. Game is fucking amazing btw.

Cool secret I found by accident. You can unlock God Hard by rotating the main menu camera a lot. Which is awesome btw, don't think that was in the demo.

Went with hard mode. Too tired to continue, but just finished the first act. Scored very poorly, still getting used to the controls and stuff lol. Also suck at shooting my own grenades in the air...

The DLC weapons are pretty cool. My favorite is the anti-armor pistol. The thing is a fucking beast. Basically the atypical revolver/DE weapon games like to have. I use it as a sniper rifle lol. I hope they add more DLC stuff.

Also you get access to the challenge that was in the "challenge demo" by beating the first act. Feels harder than the demo.

EDIT: Actually think I am going to restart tomorrow and aim for a no death run(no loading to checkpoints). Seems like the proper way to do it.

Shitballs, didn't even realize there was any DLC available yet. Got it today and finished in just under 6 hours between 2 sessions and was hooked the entire time. Haven't done Hard or any of the Challenge missions yet. Anyhow, besides being extremely goddamn fun, this game is fucking pretty. It's almost distractingly pretty, by far the best looking game I've played thus far and as far as gameplay goes I can't really think of a time I've had more fun. Boosting into a large enemy and seeing them get fucking drop-kicked 10 feet back could not be more satisfying, lol.

Doing pretty well with score for my first run. Though I reload mission on death so that helps a lot. Will probably be crushed once the JP start ranking in.

This game is pure bliss. Think I am more than halfway through at this point. Keep on dying on stupid stuff on this current mission "Infiltration" and its really long! Will finish up tomorrow for sure.

I don't use those because I am aiming to max them out first. I've beaten unknown three times because I keep restarting the levels(lost to him only once, that was because he did his instant kill move a few seconds after I saw him for the first time... quite a surprise). My most recent strategy was to break down his armor with the Laser Canon dlc weapon.
