Let me summarize the thread:
1-We are outraged over the discrimination against gays, etc, etc

2-Two guys making out is perhaps tamer than the other stuff they show during commercials .

3-The dating company only did this to drag attention towards itself.

4-Libertarian and pro corporation fags seem to not like it when people whine about companies being discriminatory even though the corporation exercised its right of choice, and hence their complaints are redundant.

5-Only people who are more uncomfortable with homosexuality think that two guys making out is somehow different than two chicks wrestling eachother in skimpy outfits, in terms of sex, anyway.

6-Ksandra tries to make up for the fact that she came off as a backwater tard in another thread by defending fags in this one.

It's a controversial issue. It's not a scientific "this is exactly what it is" thing. It's still up for debate, and still debated hotly, no matter how much you want to deny it, and no matter how much the "gays are sick" side wants to deny it, there is no absolutely positive definition of what it is, how, when, why it occurs, how it implements itself, etc. etc.


In other words, it's an area where people still have a right to their own opinion. If people believe there are direct negative effects from shoving it in people's faces, they have a right to object, too. And in this particular case, I'm sure tons of them would express those objections well beyond any reasonable extent.

That's what I've taken out of his 30+ posts of backpeddling and tapdancing around the true issue.

If you don't want your kids seeing gay kissing because you're afraid to talk to them about it or fear that they'll somehow turn gay from it, that's fine. If you just don't like the thought of seeing gay guys kissing and try to justify it by throwing the "think about the children!" line up, that's also fine.

But what is also fine is people here seeing through your bullshit reasoning and justifications and calling you out on it. It is also fine to have people voicing their opinions on a company exercising its right to deny any commercial it sees fit to do so.

The only thing annoying me is hearing the tired and contrived line of "I don't want my children exposed to XXX" when those same "children" are being exposed to things twenty times worse, whether you know it or not. Man the fuck up. If you don't want to see a gay kiss, than so be it.

I didn't read everything plow wrote, and I have disagreed on his points in the past, but the fact is that his opinion is his opinion, and one that is shared across the board. Just like lots of whites don't really like blacks, lots of guys don't really like gays(edit, fixed wrong word). UPN and WB were put on TV for blacks to get their shine on, gays should make a few TV shows where they can show musicals and reruns of Will and Grace.

I don't really like gays, I really don't like blacks so I don't go out and watch Brokeback Mountain or Tyler Perry movies. American TV does a good job keeping them both off of my airwaves when it isn't sports related or another gay bashing incident, so I'm happy.

A lot of people will automatically call me close minded, but I have put plenty of thought into my feelings about both of these groups, and I believe that I have made a good decision in my choice. Closed minded are the people who think the people who think like me are uneducated bigots who live in a trailer park, when in reality everyone holds a prejudice over some group. Just because your beliefs are politically correct, and it is politically correct to hold prejudices towards the people you do, doesn't make you more open minded than the next person.

In summary, it's just a fucking commercial, one of way too many that slow the happiest day of the year down enough so I can take a piss, grab a beer and fix fresh guacamole before the game picks back up.
