There is a negative connotation associated with being a member of the KKK because of the violence and hatred associated with their revival in the early 20th century.
"Gangsta" dress and values should be viewed just as bad. They don't provide any positive influences on the world we live in, just negative. I find it hard to believe that upstanding citizens defend "gangsta", they defy everything a good American should be and they drag their communities down with them.
People in this country are taught how to act. They're scared of the topic of race, and would rather cover it up than face it. Look at Don Imes, he has a view of the world coming from a different generation, and part of that view includes being a bit racist. Why should he be persecuted for reciting a line that every rapper has been using since the 90s? Just because he's white? Why can blacks call white people whatever they want and no backlash on them? Every movie with a bunch of black guys and a white guy, the white guy is always snowflake, or wonder bread. But that racism doesn't count.
I personally find the justifications for allowing people to be racists towards whites and the justifications for whites being racist on par with each other.
