    Oops Bank Fraud

    I said I was going to deposit $80 at the ATM machine, but I only put in $20. So I called the bank and explained my situation and they told me to make a new deposit for the other $60. So I deposited it and I was like okay well my balance isn't right and they were like oops you have to call tomorrow to get this fixed. So I'm going in tomorrow but I was wondering if banks have any kind of auto correcting system for issues like this or if there is a standard fee involved because I fucked up?

    ok here's the deal:

    Every transaction you do there's a receipt that's recorded inside the atm. When you deposit cash it goes in a separate bin than the one that gives out cash.

    Every day (if it's at the bank atm, think 3 days for outside atms), someone goes in and counts the cash and matches it up to the atm's count. If there's a discrepancy, the person manually puts in the real amount.

    So in a nutshell, yes they check it and fix it. Also the customer service rep was retarded to tell you to put the extra 40 in. What normally happens is you report it, and when they see the atm was short the 40, they'll see the report and fix your acc. So, there was no need to do that.







    You're fine though, as long as you reported it, it's in their hands now.
