thus common sense. by doing GOTYs in Nov/Dec you are ruling out any games that come out after the awards. by doing in January of following year you have the whole previous year to judge

I didn't see your post on the last page, jsut the one at the top of this one, so I thought ou meant GOTY in general, not saying ME2 was GOTY, that would be premature in the extreme.

Well that I can agree with, which is the point I was making. People already annointing ME 2 as GOTY when we still have 11 months of games left.

But normally by the time the GOTY awards are done, which is in the middle of december, all the triple A titles that would be considered have released prior to Christmas. So essentially it is the whole year in review as far as the award goes.
