    coprocessor driver?

    Last night i was using my laptop and all of the sudden it gave me the bluescreen telling me something about nvlddmkm.sys crashing(google says its something about nvidia driver), so i boot up in safe mode and on device manage theres a exclamation mark so i check it up and it says the driver for coprocessor are not installed. This laptop is over 1yr old it used to be vista 64bit and now its a Win7 64bit never had this kind of problem till now, anyone here experienced this kind of problem?

    theses are my specs:
    model:HP dv9922us
    processor:AMD Turion 64X2 TL-62 2.11GHz
    Ram: 4Gb
    Windows7 64bit
    Nvidia Geforce 8400m GS

    Install the drivers for 7, check out the auto select option to help you find any drivers missing from your sys: http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index5.aspx?lang=en-us video, mobo chipset, etc. and yeah, double check you're getting the correct driver, I think it chose the wrong one once...

    how long have you had 7 installed?

    from the BSOD error, it sounds video related... to me, it sounded like the laptop (video chip) overheated, crashing the system. Worst case scenario, it affected the motherboard/cpu so that it's no longer recognized properly by the system. Some HP laptops are notorious for overheating due to the video, I believe my dad's HP laptop's integrated chip damaged the CPU and now can only run at half speed. There isnt even a heatsink for the video chip in his laptop, running temperature monitoring software said it'd go over 112F >.>

    yea i know what you mean mine tends to overheat if i leave it flat on a surface when i'm dloading stuff, usually i have to leave it upside down so it doesnt overheat. Would reinstalling wn7 help with the problem? and btw i bought win7 when it was properly release(think it was october?)

    @meteora
    I tried installing the driver from nvidia but for some damn reason its failing.

    yeah, if it's been working for months, and then suddenly not like that, I'm more inclined to think it's a hardware error.

    As a last ditch effort, can try reinstalling 7, maybe let it sit for a few hours off

    I think for the last ditch he should revert to Vista again. If it fails, then w/o any fear of equivocation we can say it's a hardware issue.

    I just reinstall Win7 and everything is running ok, no crash so far but on device manager the Coprocessor still has a warning and the video card is not running. afraid to try and reinstall the drivers for it and get blue screen crap.

    edit:

    before reinstalling i was able to use speedfan app(temperature monitor) and the GPU was running at 62 C which i found on other forums that it was a normal temp, then again a few minutes later it crash with the same error
