I remember when the general readership of this site had some traces of civility and dickish behavior was more or less looked down upon.

I remember Maze of Shakrami was a hot place to EXP. Entrance to Buburimu wasn't bad either.
I remember farming Cock meat.
I remember standing in DA, staring at the clock, and hating every second of it and it dawning on me: FFXI endgame is complete bullshit.
I remember when LS's were ashamed of botting.
I remember trying to climb promyvions with an alliance the first night of CoP.
I remember making 50k/day selling insect paste in Windy, making me enough money for a full set of RSE, in turn making me a wonder kaftan pimp.
I remember 6 mil for $60.
I remember "RNG PT ONLY"
I remember spending 18 million of a Kriegspiel.
I remember when Aquarius dropped D cloth and Nins elemental wheel soloing it and many discussions on fighting it on Allakhazam about this new-fangled strategy called "kiting"
I play FFXI 90% for the nostalgic value. I could go on forever.
Forgot to add some more from an earlier post.
I remember when...
During the time of inflation, I got a V-Claw in a ODS BLM run and was so excited I jumped up and broke my knuckle from hitting the ceiling of my house.
I to also remember the god aweful lines when the Adventuring Fellow Quest came out.
When certain zones actually had people.
The lag in Jeuno.
The RSE quests and how much of a pain the ass they were. Key and chest hunting for hours on end.

i remember screaming at CoP 3-3 mountain climb
I remember watching a JP player go from Lv.71 to 75 the same day the level cap was raised.
I remember looking for a save point when I first started the game -_-
I remember several servers didn't kill all the trees in time, so SE took pity on them and gave them OP warps anyway.I remember when we had the tree event that netted us outpost warps... lol
My list, in no order, sure there is going to be repeats from other people. Oh well!
Things I remember:
-Running to Rabao for the first time somewhere around level 30-35 with no map of either Altepa or Korrolaka Tunnel.
-Running to Jeuno for the first time from Sandy and dying multiple times.
-Taruwaru's Casino in Lower Jeuno (Unicorn server)
-Spending hours upon hours trying to get an ancient papyrus and falling behind from my original static with my pld.
-Because of falling behind I met friends that would become my new static, and in the end, some of my best friends in game. Did quests, missions, xp with them, just went around exploring and getting into situations that we'd laugh about later, either because of how stupid we were or how we somehow defied odds to pull through a situation.
-Jeuno shouts that were either funny or made you facepalm, now it's dead quiet.
-Finally beating the Crystal Warrior/Arch Angel alliance fight without a blm alliance.
-Running through the Promys with an alliance and always having some idiot aggro or get lost and make it a multiple hour event. Learning from that to just go with a single party.
-Being told as pld/war (before the shift to /nin) that I couldn't tank Bahamut 1 and I was going with my group as a backup, and then watching the ninjas get smacked around and die, and then solo tanking the rest of the fight, resulting in a win.
-A fad of everyone in Lower Jeuno walking around in subligar.
-Goblin trains in both jungles.
-Soldier Crawler trains in Crawler's Nest that would link the whole zone...
-MPKing RMT over Simurgh back when he dropped non rare/ex boots.
-When people actually shouted for and got help on quests/missions.
-When city aketons and signet staffs were released.
-When people that were rank 8 or higher wouldn't invite anyone that wasn't at least rank 5 for home nations, to xp.
-Having more than 1 person as competition for Leaping Lizzy and Valkurm Emperor.
-When the "good camp" was Lufaise Meadows, and then your puller got a ram and the whm would freak out.
-Climbing the mountain in Attohwa Chasm for CoP
-Getting yelled at by some Japanese player for skilling up summoning magic inside Whitegate (pre-adjustment, when you could only skill up by actually summoning the avatar.)
-When they fixed (read: broke) 2h weapons, and 1 str = 1 attack, and the ensuing melee tp burn parties.
-Great times with awesome friends, all of whom without would have made this game boring as hell to play.
Also when hand-to-hand weapons had absolutely no variation in damage and would always hit for a static number until they emergency-fixed it.-When they fixed (read: broke) 2h weapons, and 1 str = 1 attack, and the ensuing melee tp burn parties.
I remember;
-Thinking I could make bank off of Strange Apparatuses and thinking that the secret Doctor password was given out to "the lucky few who could beat RotZ"
-Having an alliance back me up on RDM AF Hat's Doll NM.
-My friend letting me borrow her Scorpion Harness; it was 5+ mil and I felt so awesome wearing it.
-Sending a rank10 member in my dunes PT a congratulatory tell and how much of an expert he must've been.
-Spending the entire period in class with the 2004 FFXI Strategy Guide and drawing up crazy get-rich-quick schemes like where to farm leeches in Pashhow Marshlands. If I got lucky, I could even kill Goobbues here and there.
-Barely being able to exp behind the moongate before CoP coming out; then it was all about Bibiki Bay and accidentally dispelling Berserk on the Dhalmels.
-Reading GameFAQs' FFXI message board for all my FFXI resources and trying to fit using outdated and unfunny memes.
I remember when I first created my character (female elvaan), I absolutely HATED the way she looked, but I thought character creation was a one-shot deal. I didn't realize I could delete her and pick something else ._.
I remember when daggers got a boost in dmg, and MANDAU HIT LIKE A FUCKING MAMMOTH. And LW stayed home from work to play with it. hehe.
