Grinding was also part of the game, instead of a speed bump keeping you from going from the character create screen straight into endgame.

    I found Fire Temple boring after the third run, same for Steel Rake, Crafting was good when you had to go afk, rifting was fun with a friend of mine but he doesnt play anymore and never bothered for Aether Extraction.. just because... i dont know. >.>;

Aion has good parts, but it didnt keep me playing (I liked my character ; ; ).

Your changing subject, you said there is nothing else to do then grind, now your saying you don't like those instance.

But there is something to do

Oh well, I have to admit you're right here.
But still.. two instances, grinding and crafting isnt enough to keep me playing and there is not much else to do at level 50. D:

Only thing I miss is the Legion I made with an ig friend of mine, but they're still doing great~

I agree 100% with this. I had a lot of fun grinding with friends in FFXI, but I also had a lot of nightmarish struggle grinding in FFXI. I have a lot of fun taking down elites with my friends in Aion. I have a lot of fun running instances with my friends in Aion. I have a lot of fun running around doing random quests and having goofy adventures. And when they're not around I can still do things on my own. That's why I like the game.

The patch looks like it may have some potential.

I know that none of us want to have to go through the slow grind that eventually will be 50-55. However, they need to increase the level and the content for the game to flourish. Currently the game is stagnant with a lot more people leaving than joining. I would love to see a reduction in XP loss upon death. Yes, there needs to be a death penalty, but a penalty that is equal to about 30minutes of grinding, not equal to an hour and a half or more. Quests need to MEAN something for XP.

As for the 3 new skills... well we will see. They mentioned a "talent" system that should help things and may increase potency of some of the underused skills we already have.

Either way, this needs to hit NA servers by mid march or they are going to be giving new content to a dead game.

I'd really like a way to get stigma skills acquired permanently, but it'll probably never happen since it might actually mean the unpopular ones would get used.

Can't be bothered quoting multiple people, but Arus this is a pvp game, ganking is going to happen and my server is really quiet, wish the population was higher so i could get abyss gear faster.

Berabouman, sin is a top DPS when played/geared right, maybe it's your rep from playing it that's stopping you from getting into parties.

Ssu, 2 instances? sorry that you're too lazy to find out about other instances, but there are alot more than 2.

It's not so much getting into the parties that is the problem...it's that when I can play, there is no one shouting for a group that I want to join, and where there is someone shouting for one that I can join, I can't/may not be able to commit to it because I tend to only be able to play in 1 hour chunks during the day. I know I can make my own parties, but I'd had MORE than enough of that experience in FF11 (took THF to 75, made 99% of my parties)

Then when I get into a party, sometimes they wipe, sometimes they AFK, sometimes people disconnect...I know this is all part and parcel of MMOs, but one of the things that attracted me to Aion is the fact that you can solo and get away from it all when you want to, as opposed as having to put up with it. Sure, one of the things I loved (and still love) about FF11 is it's great community and people who actually work together well...but ALWAYS having to do that gets draggy, which is one of the reasons I quit. (I did play BST for a while, but I find soloing in Aion a lot more fun than BST.)

One thing that I want from Aion that no developer/patch can fix, is a better community, ffs. AS is terribad, FFXI spoiled me.

^ AS = FFXI's KI or Ala. Only reason FFXI has such a good community is from independent forums such as BG

If I agreed that ganking is PvP, then you might have a point, but it's just e-bullying. As is, simply giving 1 AP per kill isn't enough to deter people and you can't really rely on others since half the time if you make a public report on some enemy location, they're gone by the time they get there so people just stopped responding. Only exception is when it's usually a big group, but at that point it's like a gang mugging an old lady, and individual wannabe heroes won't go for a group, anyway.

But what do I know. I didn't get killed a half dozen times by people 10+ levels higher just trying to work on my cleric's daeva shield or anything last night.

    So much this.

At least we have sort of a mini-community on BG.

Unfortunately that's just the kind of people a pvp oriented game attracts. I doubt this game will ever have a decent community because it's built to be frustrating and the design all but encourages griefing. Most of the people who don't like griefing and ganking have left or are on their way out.

Apparently in other countries people don't grief nearly as much as Americans because it's not worth it. They didn't count on we'd be as big of jerks as we are.

Beat me to it. I think the only exception is EVE, but that game seems to be an anomaly. I don't think you can have a large successful PVP MMO without tons of PVE content. Although, the people i talk to that came from Lineage II, Warhammer, DAOC, and so on don't want any PVE.

Personally speaking, i think i was so engrossed in FFXI for 6 years, that i wasn't aware of games revolving around PVP. Now, i've learned that i love PVP, but i think a lot of people maybe didn't know what they were getting into. My question is, should those people that don't like griefing and ganking been playing in the first place? Or was the implementation to blame? I wish we had someone to translate some Korean forums so we could see how they're doing. They seem to be trucking along fine.

I think when a game incorporates a large world PvP model then ganking/griefing is inevitable.

I enjoy world pvp over BG/Arena simply because it's more "spontaneous". Aion's system is far from perfect, but it has a strange charm for me. I love the idea of the Abyss and although ganking/griefing is common I find it a worthy price to pay.

I personally went in expecting ganking due to world pvp so I wouldn't blame the implementation.

EDIT: I just got ganked after I typed this FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF

PvP isn't exactly something I seek, as I've never been neurotic enough to twink and basically go to the lengths that a lot of enthusiasts do to guarantee a victory, with this being something I came to terms with as far back as Diablo II. Though, even in Aion, a lot of that is overcome by numbers, class, or by ambush. The concept of Forts and them changing hands intrigued me, but seeing them limited to daily events and then neutered into impossibly short timers has numbed me of the desire to go for them. As is, the asmodians on Kaisinel have held Roah and Asteria in upper since December, and even without control of those forts, I find their NPC positioning far superior to the Elyos (our backs are usually to space while they get other land mass to retreat to).

As is, the Abyss doesn't offer enough for me to accept the juvenile behavior we see with ganking. If mobs gave 4x EXP, dropped equipment/stigmas far more frequently, or led to some better quests that had the former perks, then sure, I might tolerate it more. As I see it, the PvP crowd are helping to kill the game just as much as NC is with a lack of public communication and updates. This game was marketed as PvPvE, and the vE hasn't mysteriously fallen off despite its importance to character progression, and it's all we have to fall back on when forts aren't vulnerable or rifts are down.

Really, as long as we have ??s by our names, I don't expect people to be penalized for killing a lowbie, but as the lowbie, having zero defense against it is lame. I don't buy the whole vengeance MO or "red you're dead" line of thinking. We know there are people on the other end of the screen. We know there's very little reason to be killing mobs 5 levels lower than you. People can have a good idea on where to find equal level prey if they were truly interested in a challenge, but Aion's PvP is "Get your AP as easily as possible, no matter who you screw." Earning it the hard way by fighting people who can fight back is, I dare say, not rewarding enough. AP loss at higher ranks doesn't help that, either.

I wanted to like Dredgion, too, but the whole mob train clusterfuck kills it for me.

Sorry, but everytime I talk with my Legion they're only talk about Dredgion and DP. >.> (Wasn't talking about Nochsana, Fire Temple, Steelrake and the Fortress Instances)

I also really hope there is some solution to the constant ganking. Yes, I know that there is PvP... but getting steam rolled by 15 people while trying to get a quest done/kill some mobs to get to the point where I can actually pose a challenge to those people, is not PvP. I'm not even talking about the Abyss here, as that would fall more in the realm of "fair game", but just doing a quest in Heiron. If it was once in a while, fine, but I can barely get anything done outside of an instance.

Not to mention that when I find one of these group gankers break off from the pack I usually do pretty well in a fair fight (if not totally wreck them because all they can do is zerg) but that's 1 time out of 100.
