Really, as long as we have ??s by our names, I don't expect people to be penalized for killing a lowbie, but as the lowbie, having zero defense against it is lame. I don't buy the whole vengeance MO or "red you're dead" line of thinking. We know there are people on the other end of the screen. We know there's very little reason to be killing mobs 5 levels lower than you. People can have a good idea on where to find equal level prey if they were truly interested in a challenge, but Aion's PvP is "Get your AP as easily as possible, no matter who you screw." Earning it the hard way by fighting people who can fight back is, I dare say, not rewarding enough. AP loss at higher ranks doesn't help that, either.

I wanted to like Dredgion, too, but the whole mob train clusterfuck kills it for me.
So much in your last couple of posts I completely agree with. So have to choose just one. The ?? and level difference ganking is the biggest thing. Back in the early days of wow we had something to the effect of "unhonorable kills" It was a good system. Kill something or someone that you shouldnt be messing with either due to level difference or Blizz just not wanting you to kill said NPC you got dinged and they didnt go away. Diablo had ears you could amass so people knew you were a complete douche.

Aion has great potential... had great potential when most people werent 45+. Now we have twinked out players who have money to burn making near invincible toons that can take on 4+ players of the same level and win solely because of ambush tactics and gear. We have no PvE content and no constant PvP constant PvP content available so bored players make twinks, or sit on top of the lowbie rifts making rifting near impossible.

The curse was a good step moving from CAion and KAion to World Aion. However, it didn't go far enough to balance the fun for the world. To keep the jackasses of the English speaking world who do not have to go to work all day and live in their mom's basements from laying in wait to gank everyone just to (as you say it) e-bully people.

This shit is getting to me the most right now. A group of about 5 people, all of the THIS legion, all sins/rangers with twinked out gear just constantly roaming around Eltnen. They stunlock you to shit, all have the speed scrolls and tons of pots and just sit in there all day ganking.

I can appreciate it one or twice maybe, but every fucking day this week so far? Get a life.

That's the Vaizel branch, lol. Eggs is by far the best geared, if you want to check him out, he's called out in LFG chat atleast once every 5min :3

I generally don't either. Personally I do try to leave the obviously lower levels alone when rifting, and usually any non-bots below rank 7 unless they come after me first. If I do kill them, its usually no more than once or twice unless they start coming after me. The thing is, even when I am nice enough to do this, most of these people won't hesitate to join the stampede of people that come after me and are probably the very ones linking my location in their lfg chat, so why should I even spare them?

Red = dead. If you want to come into the enemy's lowbie zone on a character so twinked out that no one your level has a chance in hell of beating you, don't be surprised when someone with just as big an advantage over you gets called in to play road roller.

Thats perfectly fine, if you're in their lands, you're fair game to anyone as you're the intruder. Level 50s rifting into enemy lands and griefing 30s because "red = dead" is douchey though imo, though I understand people do this in hopes to attract 50s to fight them.

Well, I figure if they engage, they're fair game even if I do happen to vastly outlevel them. Additionally, yes, being in enemy territory more or less makes you fair game. Really, any time I call for help or see others doing it, people rarely respond. As close as asmos have to get to jape camp or whatever in Heiron, when people point out those groups farming for betoni weapons I don't see people gathering to counter them. And as I mentioned earlier, sometimes location reports are invalid by the time someone can respond to them.

Perhaps the only defense a person has is to keep a high level alt close by to where you're questing/grinding, but even that isn't a guarantee. My 35 cleric got iced by, I'm assuming, a betoni group near Heiron Observatory.... which isn't anywhere close to their objective. Even with 6k HP, I was dead before I could even realize it wasn't the mob that was hurting me.

Are there dicks that'll point you out even if you try to play nice? Yeah. Last night I was at the little balaur island in northern upper and I see a chanter, too. I'm not in the mood to fly all the way back in case I die, so I wave and do the gibberish speak to say I just wanted to finish a quest. They leave me alone for a few minutes, only for two of their legionmates to show up and not hold back. I looked up the chanter after that, and figured I could've easily killed her if I played the asshole and pulled an ambush. Of course, one of the guys that came sets up shop of my corpse saying something like "nature of the game" and they just camped me. Sorry, but nothing about the game forced them to gang up on me, but it was their human nature that had 'em pulling the dick move. I'm pretty sure their reasoning would be because others have done it to them.

People might not go blind going eye for eye here, but as I implied in an earlier post, you can't ween the PvE people into PvP when it's a vertical cliff of difficulty one way or another because the game hasn't properly focused the purpose of PvP. If NC announced a PvE server with respect to fort raids or rifting tomorrow along with world shifts, I figure I'd probably jump to it. The PvP crowd might be surprised just how much of a ghost town their servers would become, too. Plenty have already quit the game in disgust, and really, I only tolerate it all because I don't wanna go back to FFXI and hope XIV beta/launch is sooner rather than later.

Twinks are only gonna get more twinked as time goes on, though. My own best defense is usually playing during off-hours on a West coast server being someone on East coast.
