For its size they had to lower how it looks a little. Worth the trade off in my book. Also if you lag everyone just about does so its great ^^

Generally speaking, this game excels when you have friends, teammates and clans who can all work together. So most people will try and get as many friends into their PMC as they can. Throw in Gamestop's SVER pre-order bonus, and the whole rebellious, "badass" look to SVER, a lot of people flocked to them.

While the weapons have some slight differences, they're really not that noticeable. Some people will claim that it takes more bullets to drop another PMC or that other groups have stronger weapons, but that's all perception and not any actual facts. It's like eyeballing your DPS and WS dmg and feeling it's an accurate portrayal of something's effectiveness.

I've never been a graphic conscious person myself, so I never had any problems with how this game looked. Everything seems detailed and crisp to me, and while there's always an issue or two every now and then, for an online only game to run this smoothly, with this many people on screen at once...at launch to boot, is just an amazing feat.

Also, if it hasn't been posted before. Not even having everyone group up in the same area at the same time will cause the game to start lagging.

If you're not on SVER, I've probably killed you. Then again, I've probably killed you even if you were on SVER. People need to stop walking in front of my LMG while it's firing. >_>

They're going to have to do something about the balance. IGN's review on MAG raised a good point about SVER dominance, and how it's just going to continue to spiral out of control as more people adopt the "can't beat em; join em!" mentality.

I like that they're trying to make the factions different, but the problem with a purely-online game is that humans hate to lose and will just flock to whatever faction is winning the most.

do you hate run and gunning/knife builds in cod? this is your game then lol

I am having fun keeping my kills/deaths to about 1.1~1.5 goes up then down.

I tend to like the sniper gun till I get my team inside, then I change over to a full auto build till we get deeper in, then change back to a sniper once we are making our final push. Taking out people from long range when a large group enters an area is great help.

I would recommend this game to any person who enjoys shooters. I agree, the tradeoff for graphics to the way it plays is more than acceptable to me. The graphics arent THAT bad, the trees aren't amazing but i'm more interested in shooting people than enjoying the scenery lol.

IGN's review was way off base imo, the video review at least. The problem was he was basing it off of his own playing experience (which I suppose he has to to some extent obviously) rather than an overwall experience. For example he stated how you will die, and you will die a lot. Now, I usually average between 10-20 kills (Sabotage game type) with usually no more than 5 deaths.

As for the SVER dominance, it's not as bad as it was before. I am on SVER, the way the look really sold it to me lol. Unless I'm just getting extremely unlucky with team mates who don't really know what they are doing. I win more than I lose, but that has to do with who you play with. And I think its safe to say that more people flocking to SVER also means SVER will have more 'noobs' lol.

All in all, my only complaint is the friendly fire. I understand how it makes more communication required, but starting a game with a moron who runs around killing team mates is just stupid, wouldn't be so bad if it didn't count as a death. This seems to happen more on Suppression than anything else, and it's not even very bad.

It really depends on the reviewer. IGN gave it a 7.0, IGN UK gave it a 7.5. IGN User Reviews gave an average of 8.2, and 1UP gave it an A-.

The game really isn't a run n' gunner like most other FPS's, it really relies on teamwork.

The problem with this thinking is that to get the Platinum, people will be forced to switch teams eventually. It's just that since people who played the beta saw the advantages from SVERs maps, combined with the GS codes for SVER's armor, SVER ended up drawing in the most people. Easily defended maps + easily obtained pre-order bonus = larger PMC. In time things will even out, whether or not the maps get changed.

With this game, there's just so much going on at all times that being a lone wolf super stabber Rambo won't get you far unless you're really really good. With no auto-aim and a much shorter range on knifing people (you literally have to be right on top of them), the CoD style of runnin around crazy killing doesn't work as well.

If you want an FPS that focuses more on teamwork and objectives then K/D ratios and pure personal stats, give it a shot. You might even be able to pick it up used for cheap.

Both IGN reviews were terribly terribly skewed and at times filled with blatantly incorrect information. Most of the other big gaming sites gave it decent-to-favorable reviews, but IGN's reviews were absolutely atrocious, with many of the complaints stemming more from the reviewer sucking at the game then the game actually being bad.

For squad leader a mic doesn't really seem like a necessity. I haven't gotten a mic yet, but as long as you pick out particular FRAGOs on the way to taking the eventual primary objective, you're doing what most people with a mic would be doing anyway. Platoon and OIC probably would require a mic though

during beta every squad leader that didn't have a mic was given their very own complaint thread. I'll probably pick this up after a month or so.

Only downside to no mic is say picking what to flank if you get a great group that can follow orders that good. Or where you are doing a air raid.

Sent out clan invites to random people on the SVER list, unless you were already in a clan.

After testing the water for a bit I think I'm going to settle on the shotgun. I like to rush objectives and it's been pretty beastly so far. It's great for planting charges on bunkers, since half the time after you plant the bomb 3 people will spawn on top of you can you can go through them like butter. It's also great for holding rooms in domination, and camping doorways allows for some easy kills. One thing that's really annoying though is the range of bomb charges. It's really annoying blowing up a gate for +10 exp, only to have it take out 4 teammates as well for a net -10 exp.
