Ding 75 like 3 days ago, finally decent enough to post I think..

1. GK TP. Pretty happy with it, need to pick up a black tathlum sometime. R.ear is hollow, swapped with wyvern if /drg. Velocious Belt, Toreador's Ring.

2. Polearm TP. Need to get a rose strap or usukane sune-ate, giving up a lot more acc than i'd like for 5hit. Other than that, I think it's pretty good.

3. Penta Thrust. Disgusting mess, tips?

4. Gekko. Also a disgusting mess, though I mostly know what I need to get for it. The ring has a str+1 dex+1 augment. Badly need a gorget, gnadbod's helm, and shura/usu legs. Could gain 1 STR by wsing in hachi feet + osode and keeping my 6hit, but have other things I need to buy more.

7. Evasion, not sure what SAM has for leg options and Rasetsu Sune-Ate+1 are impossible to find. Musical/Elusive earrings, not using novia because I won't be soloing on SAM and losing hate is counterproductive to evading.

What is your fine dining of choice when using polearm?

Should swap out Tiphia sting for Fenrir's stone in MDT and PDT gear as well in case you'll get a cure. Plus, EVA in PDT is nice on SAM.

I glossed over the pdt set before and didnt pay attention. Add in gavial +1 legs and alexander earring on pdt
And while we're at it how about some hydra+1 since gil isnt a problem for ya generally.

You as well as everyone else on this forum knows up until this point Thorny has been all about mages. KNOWING how to play/gear a melee job doesn't necessarily mean you have to have one fully done up yourself.

Your comment holds about as much ground as people who bash those that Astral Flow a job to 75, citing they have no skill because of it. When Thorny suddenly has terrible gear and sucks, continue making your comments.

God forbid my first real usu job(nin doesn't count because it's useless) didn't have feet to ding into, only body. I'm more than capable of calculating damage between pieces, I posted my gear and asked opinions in case i'd overlooked things.. like the creek M clomps that were brought up earlier. I'm not buying gavial+1 because the whole set amounts to 3% MDT and 2% PDT.. at the cost of 4 inventory spaces since other jobs use coral/darksteel.

Add in that this character is less than a year old and has 14 75s all geared well above standard, not sure what you expect. Dusk+1 is my next purchase, followed by currency for apoc.. though I don't know why I'm even bothering explaining this to you. Get back to me when you've accomplished half of what I have.

Probably AB but not like it matters if it was. I'd rather play with someone who Astral Burn'd a job to 75 but knew what he was doing over someone who leveled the old way and is a retard at their jobs.

Actually about half and half, RDM SAM COR BRD DRK were mostly 'real' parties, WAR NIN SCH SMN DNC BLU THF were mostly AB, BLM was mostly pets, WHM was a mix of main healing bird parties and AB. The plain leveled jobs had nothing to do with thinking AB gimps anything though, just allowed my gf to level with me and farmed IS for perdu things.

SAM - best tank for t4 znm/t3+t4 vnm/lot of other junk with high def
COR - good complement to brd, ideal dd party always includes a cor
BRD - it's fucking brd
DRK - best zerg job, good tank job(best for omega/ultima/wyrms besides ouryu/a few other things)
WAR - nothing super special, still preferable to have a war assist in dyna/ein so mobs dont run for sleeper and waste time
DNC - belongs in ideal dd party
BLM - best sleeper, necessary for some things(thundaga3 adds on blobdingnag, kill lower tier znms in a safe/timely manner, etc)
WHM - r3/rr3, cure5, capped fast cast, etc
THF - if you're french you don't need TH, the luck<>intelligence proportion has got you covered, the rest of us like it though
NIN, SCH, SMN, BLU - Junk

MNK - Best DD by a long shot on anything with reasonable defense. Also best tank on most of those things.
RNG - Best ranged damage(bad aoes), relic allows it to be near hate free as well.
PLD,DRG,PUP,BST - Useless.

I count 12 good jobs, not 6.

Check for yourself, I usually have enough accuracy to swap to Merman's earring/Triumph ring instead of Fowling/Toreador's.

Pole TP set is great, you're doing it right and I would try to keep Dusk ledelsens +1 in there. The set I'm aiming for includes: Haramaki, Rajas, Rose, Brutal and Attila's. Currently I have to use Usu feet.

SMN has its situational uses for being a DD/buffers, as do PLD and NIN for tanking. DRG is boss for angon in zerging, and if your Wyvern is named Wuffi, you can be the best DD as well.
