Broderick Heads to Network Television
NBC picks him up for a new comedy pilot.

February 2, 2010 - NBC has picked up Godzilla star Matthew Broderick for a comedy pilot called Beach Lane, to be executive produced by Lorne Michaels, says The Hollywood Reporter. Broderick has been a hot commodity for network television for a few years now, THR says. NBC previously had him guest star on the season two finale of 30 Rock.
Broderick will play a "celebrity author" who gets hired by an "irresponsible millionaire heir" to take over small, struggling newspaper in the Hamptons. THR said Broderick had a standing offer for the pilot that he just now accepted because he was finally able to read the finished script, which he presumably liked.
