Pssht, if the SMN's any good they'll have Merited 75BPs, at least 1 to Max and some MAB Merits.

those 75BP's are not to be underestimated, they may not pull 3k on some nice Magic Bursts, biggest upside is they're disposable, and near hateless in their Damage!

Though its all moot with a exceptional group, as BLMs won't be at risk to die so often if they can do their jobs right, but at the same time SMN isn't out for the count, even if its just a Shiva/Diabolos Favor whore =p!

And Seveneyes/Healing Torque/Zenith Mitts really is wtf.

As if to prove that only gimps get good augments, that Cerberus Mantle has accuracy+5 on it (I think I remember seeing it in an augment thread). This guy "can't get" anything better than relic hands, despite that N Kote is down to 300k on Remora. Also that's an Orochi Nodowa (dex+1 augment), Assailant's Ring (can't augment anyway) and Rasetsu Hakama (no augment). He also has Hermes' Sandals for some unfathomable, possibly Bonanza-related reason.

Melee Gloves aren't bad though. I think the 2 attack isn't worth paying for, no matter how much money you got. I get what you mean by "can't get" though. He's obviously just lost!

if you really think smn is a subpar DD on everything, you should consider running a few #s on damage per second for varying things vs 5/5 wind blade with proper gear

1100/45 seconds with no hate generated and healing ability is pretty boss on tougher things

Before I finished Blm I played 75 Smn a lot. 5/5 Wind Blade, Pet: MAB+ augmented Redingote (swapped in for BP only), 8/8 Smn Magic, 5/5 Pet: MAB Merits, Relic hands, some other crap...

I did some nice damage solo and on MB's. The fact that it was near-hate free was awesome. If my calculations were right, Garuda would only need three connected melee hits to push her over the bonus for 200 TP. I would just pop her out, hit Hastega for the melee in range, get her three hits and pop Wind Blade.


But then I finished and merited Blm and haven't touched Smn much in 8 months or so. I have been meaning to pick it back up and take it out.

@Fenux: :3 no offense to you but kinda made me smile when you commented on the placing of remora everywhere then misread his post. Honest mistake though, I never really think of N kote either, I just assume okote lol.

@Thorny: That would mean I would have to find a smn who knows what he's doing. I can barely find people that play easy jobs to gear that know what they're doing. Passs. I never said everything either; Smn is awesome for temp :3
