Depends. I've met people who are all, "Yeah, I know my gear isn't 'the best' but I just want to have fun, not be 'the best.'" Nothing inherently wrong with that as long as they gear halfway competently. Not everyone wants to whore Salvage for months on end, and if their big goal is to play with friends or stick to low-intensity endgame events like Dynamis, sure, okay. Not really worth this thread unless there's something really wrong with their gear.

My gear isn't the best either, since I play to have fun with some of my friends. Never really bothered about endgame, but atleast I'm trying to get a 6-hit and a haste build for TP-ing. x_x;
A friend of mine is kinda like the SAM in the Screenshot, wears full Askar and even says Haste is shit for SAM. D:

*sigh* Sadly I have a DRG friend who is slowly becoming like the one in your pic, and as much as I convince her even just 3% haste is better than all her acc gear, she just doesn't goddamn listen. She uses a Virtuoso Belt for TP, as well as askar legs and body. She wants the hands, and even the feet for TP.

She won't pay someone to get her homam stuff, but she has a Z.mail. She won't buy dusk gear, because she feels the slow movement speed is worse than having a gimpy TP set. She won't even buy a haste belt, because none of them have accuracy+ on them except for swift.

What I forgot to mention is, for someone so obsessed with accuracy that they don't use haste, I'm surprised she doesn't use the Thrakon Breastplate she camped for 2 days straight.

Eh. 99% of the FFXI playerbase either doesn't know about BG or knows about BG but consciously avoids it. I'd be surprised if Stephano's friend randomly stumbled across these posts, especially because it's so deep into a thread that's a major turnoff for the average player. You tell a random person that there're a ton of 50-page threads specifically dedicated to posting bad players, and the last thing they're going to want to do is read any of these threads.

So basically Stephano's safe unless someone goes and tells his friend, "Hey, Stephano's badmouthing you on these forums you've never heard about before."
