Around my job, PhD = Post Hole Digger, because they are worthless working in the lab. Not to say it's like that in every profession, but I forget where I was going with this.

Yeah, that's my PhD in all its bound glory :D

I'm a philosopher so it's not really an issue with that sort of thing in my area If anything they like us because most of them are getting old and are worried about where the field is going because there aren't many young researchers interested (surprisingly)
