Heinz Revamps Ketchup Packets

PORTLAND, OR (AP) -- The ketchup packet has been around for more than 40 years, and complaints about it for nearly as long: too messy, too small, too hard to open. Now H.J. Heinz Co. is unveiling the first major packaging change to the to-go condiment.

The new design has a base that's more like a cup for dipping and also a tear-off end for squeezing. It holds three times as much ketchup.

Heinz has long struggled to find a design that did all that that could also be sold cheaply enough.

The company recently made a solution a top priority. It even bought its design team a minivan to give their ideas real road tests.

The new packet is in test markets and will roll out at some fast-food restaurants in the fall.

Hot Sauce (or even BBQ sauce) is acceptable, though I prefer chicken that's good enough to be eaten on its own. Hot sauce on Churches, nothing on everything else.

In my opinion, if ketchup improves the taste of a french fry, then it wasn't a very good french fry in the first place.

Though now that I think about it, ketchup comes on some of the burgers I order.

wtf who eats ketchup with fried chicken. Anything that ketchup is put it 90% of the time the taste is killed of what you were eating and it just tastes like your eating ketchup flavored mass with different textures. Just tastes like fucking ketchup. There are a few places with fries that require it and some burgers do require it (not most though otherwise places that actually have a good tasting burger kills the taste of the burger). But aside from those situations where its actually a compliment why are people using ketchup. shit man
