If you're tight on cash, the only way to get a decent machine is building it yourself to get the most you can squeeze out of each individual part (which, as mentioned, is really not that hard to do provided you're willing to do a little research on it). Low-end prebuilt machines are usually built for people that don't go anywhere near gaming and hence tend to suck.
