Lmao so true
K-ROLD
WHY DOES ROCKSTAR ALWAYS FUCKING DO THIS. Would it be so hard to add an invert X axis option? I mean seriously? This game is now barely playable to me. If it required as much running and such as GTA 4 then it WOULD be unplayable to me. I've been using X/Y inverse since goldeneye so it's kinda hard for me to swap.
Or is there an option to change it that I haven't seen? I can only find the one for the Y axis.
That was a heavy ending. In every way.
Bravo, Team Bondi, bravo.
Favorite game this year by a country mile.
Anyone got some reading material about how their face-tech works? Just picked up the game today, and there's way too much friggen detail/tiny nuances for this to all be rendered as polygons. I'm going to take a stab and say they're essentially normal-mapped FMVs pasted on a head mold. Would be one hell of an expensive cheat though, but works well given console limitations and the lower resolution.
Does the game continue spelling out whether you made a right decision or not right after you select an option when interviewing btw? I'm assuming it's in there only because I'm still early on in the game in the good ol' 'tutorial' portion of it.
Quick google shows multipe links. its a new motion capture technology. Another production company commented on how well LA Noire does it, but says they have something way better. I'll see if I can find a link for that later.

Just finished
Spoiler: show
Thanks, but I was looking for something that goes into how this is all presented within the game. I understand the jist of the technology, but I can't find anything more technical beyond that.
Hoping Digital Foundry will do a write-up on it in the upcoming week or two as analyzing this kind of stuff is right up their alley. They just finished a face-off comparison of it for 360/PS3, so maybe an indepth look isn't far off.
As for the game, I'm finding myself getting OCD and restarting whenever I make a mistake in the questionings. Bit annoying how there isn't a skip button for the initial bits, or that I'm aware of.
Dunno for sure but my guess is it's just an animated mesh, then use motion capture to generate the animation data, then animators clean it up.
You can push a shitload of polygons these days.
Gametrailers has a great Dev Diary video of the capturing process:

Loving the game so far, on disc 2. The only problem with games like this is the replay value is pretty low imo. It's a great 20-30 hour ride though. Really looking forward to DLC cases but I'd imagine they'll be pretty expensive to produce.
Also PLEASE use this tech for the next Mass Effect/Dragon Age Bioware!
This would be perfect for a Bladerunner/Snatcher type game as well...
Hey boss... um.. yeah... shot 'em all again.
Yeah, I know it was just a domestic disturbance.
Well... he won't hit her again, will he?
Bah, 92 of 95 cars found. CAN NOT FIND the last three. =(
If you select a wrong answer during questioning, it will put an X when Cole crosses it out with his pencil. If you select right, there will be a check mark.
Props to anyone who gets the 95/95 car achievement, unless there's some methodical way to unlock it other than randomly getting into every car that you see. All the cars look the same to me.
There's a list on ps3 trophies of all the cars as well as their locations. If you don't already know you can go to the extras menu to see your car list and it numbers them. Just find the ones you are missing and cross reference the list and you're done.
John Noble, FTW
On disc 2 now. Like the game, but I find myself doing this all the time:
1) Always select LIE first
2) See what they say. If they say something like "I'd like to see you prove that." or otherwise show that it's an absurd accusation, I just back out again, unless I'm 100% sure I have evidence of course. No harm done.
3) Ok so it's not LIE. Check your notebook. Look up to see their face. Straight face or eye contact = Truth. Otherwise = Doubt.
Also, except for case ratings, why would you ever believe what they say... Using doubt over truth is usually safer if you have no proof, so that kinda bugs me.
And also, who else sprints all over the crime scene like a fool until sound/vibration just not to miss any clues? lol..
