Yep, agreed 100%. Hey BK, did you know it plays better on PS3? Any other format is invalid and isn't fun.

Is there a way to know when you should be using Doubt over Lie when investigating people? I know exactly how this case unravels, but my character is on the completely wrong track, and I'm not exactly sure how to turn things back around without a restart.

Just know your evidence really. The only way that I have been able to really flat out determine if someone is lying is by recalling a specific piece of evidence that obviously calls it out. Also, if you quit via the menu, then resume, it will only start you at the most recent auto-save. Usually right before an interrogation.

In other news. I had 94/95 cars, with the final car being a Police vehicle so pretty much a gimme. Got to that point in the game and got in... to see 94/95 pop up on my screen again. For some reason it did not save the goddamn Plymouth Sedan I spent an hour looking for and just randomly had drive up to me while I was spinning in circles in front of the Central Police Station =(

This. This game is fun, but it's incredibly tedious for someone who is OCD about getting all of the clues and playing out the interviews perfectly for every case.

GTA has conditioned me too much in taking every possible large jump I can. Fucking my end-results up in each case due to city damage. Granted, there being a penalty makes it a hell lot more fun to kinda coast along a road, just 'happen' to hit a large jump, then crash onto another vehicle.

Still having troubles here determining when Doubt or Lie is appropriate for a given interrogation. Do you typically only reserve Lie for when you have actual evidence, and Doubt for when you think they're hiding info but you have nothing to go on?

I have to say though, I'm stupefied at the level of attention to detail in this game. Some poor group of artists had to tick away at all these little props, signs, 'useless' details for all the misc buildings, backyards, etc. Hard to tell if the majority of people playing the game will even notice it.

Pretty much, yeah. Only call 'Lie' when you can point to something specific that refutes it.

I've found it hard to go with Lie though, because although the question in the notebook says it's about this, the question and answer doesn't go along with the question and the evidence you have (even if you've collected it all).

Who's the asshole that figured it'd be cool to play Chocobo Hot-and-Cold at every goddamn crime scene? I've only done two cases so far and it's already annoyed the fuck out of me. Good game otherwise.

Best thing I do for doubt/lying is go with lie and they usually give a small hint right before you have to prove evidence if it's an actual lie. (You can back out of the accusation if nothing springs out at you) Like in one case it said something along the lines of, "I went straight home last night... Nothing else." And I pressed lie for him to say, "You have no evidence that I was out in the rain!" which led me straight to muddy boots. But yeah, that's about the only real way to tell the difference but it seems a majority of the time you should go with doubt.

Anyone played the currently-released Rockstar Pass cases? At $10 I'm tempted to buy it if it means getting an extra 3hr+ of content as they finish more up before the price goes up on the pass, especially if they're at the same quality level as the main game.

I got the pass and beat the traffic case and currently playing the Vice case. I liked the Traffic case especially since thats the desk that got the least cases unless you got the Ps3 copy. It did feel a bit out of place although since Ray Picker the tech services guy gets introduced in the traffic case so it felt like it should of just been in the game to begin with. As for quality the traffic case I think its the best out of the desk so yeah its on par with the main game. All in all the pass it worth it just for current cases and content not to mention two more are still coming. Obviously value is decreased a bit if you already got parts of it if you preordered, all the current stuff atm is just all the preorder bonuses they handed out for various places.

Awesome! After being spurned by not getting RDR on the PC, and having to wait a year for GTA IV, looks like we'll be getting L.A. Noir on PC!

Seems like I really can't be arsed to finish this, even though I'm quite a way in on disc 3. I guess that means I don't like the game as much as I hoped, even though I'm really trying.

The game elements are fine; great even.

But I think it's the story. The pacing is just off sometimes; the bigger story never pulled me in either. And the characters... I hate the main characters. I got more respect for some of the villains or sidekicks, I wish I could play them.
    Spoiler: show
For me, they really messed up the likeability of Cole by letting him leave his wife & kids; worst thing was they left us as a player completely outside of it, it kinda happened behind our backs. Which sucks, because we are Cole, right? Dammit. And changing main chars near the end doesn't really help either; though I haven't finished that sequence yet.

Will come back on this after I finish it.

Not related to my last post, but interesting none the less:

The industry is abuzz after a pair of recent features blew whistles on what it was like to work at Team Bondi during the development of L.A. Noire.

The picture the sources paint, of a “sweat shop” graduate mill burning through cheap new talent for meagre and decreasing rewards, is grim indeed. So grim, the IGDA has launched an investigation into the claims.
