fact of the matter is there's nothing keeping any of you from not visiting this website. don't like a mod? there's the door.

that being said i like thorny and he's been good to me on several occasions so i don't want him gone and i don't entirely think it's fair. for instance, this thread is based on my account. dramafinderftw shared accounts with unspeakable(a banned account on here) and he was banned for 1 week. he's been banned 2 more times after that as well. i think when he shared accounts it falls under the same catagory?

on the other side of things i like isladar and she's been good to me as well, so i don't want to go against her judgement(no, i'm not dick riding, fuck off), but in my opinion this was merely a 'don't back talk me, boom perma banned' and using the sock accounts as a reason for it. i'm not an expert on the rules of bg, but it could be that an admin(isladar is an admin) can choose how severe or how little someone is going to be punished. she chose a 1 day, then thorny defended himself as well as insulting her so she chose to perma him.

tl;dr don't insult a mod outside of spam?

Actually, I don't think it was even Isla who banned him, but some other twat

Still - banned for "trolling" when the post itself was completely real. The only joke in the post was the Apathy pearl, which said character DOES have. The gear Thorny posted is infact Namuri's TP gear at the moment, and it is absolutely random fail. It just made it funnier to have the Apathy pearl on him.

There's a story in the news recently that kind of reflects on this. You all probably know about it, black professor is arrested by white officer for breaking and entering, booked immediately. Later proves it was false, released, and then proceeds to throw out slander about the arresting officer / department / etc. You don't see him suddenly getting a life sentence just for being right, and being nasty about it.

tl;dr Thorny was 1-day banned for a crime he didn't commit, someone should step up and right the wrong, what

the reason for being banned is not being able to come back. making another account and posting under it while you are banned defeats the purpose of the original ban. thus, poof

people have been banned for less, ask cair, if he remembers. when I got banned from BG someone had posted a picture of me saying something in say, something about sleeping fafnir and i posted in reply that we were waiting for th4 in the defense of myself (in the picture.) and i was banned for "spamming" media. but i'm gonna stop posting in regards to thorny now, can't get me with the same ban twice!

(also yes, he was trolling. you guys knew that was arvin on that character and you were doing it for the responses that you'd get out of people, thats trolling.)

Didn't you just post this for the response you would get from people? IE: Everything posted on this forum is to get a response from someone, lol. Trolling is different - like posting pictures of a plate of waffles every time drwaffles posts somewhere.

But to Demosthenes11 - yeah, it might appear that way. Or maybe it's just a general dislike for people abusing authority..no way, that can't be it!

But again, wanting to argue the invalidity of the first ban, when he wasn't actually in the wrong, should cause some kind of lax in the rule. I mean, if it was StevenW, fuck it, who cares! Really, it's like, Thorny, Failure, and maybe 2 other people on this forum who actually come on here with knowledge of game mechanics looking to SHARE it, and while they do so in a manner which makes them both utter pricks, you can't argue they improve the player base as a whole.

I like how it's been the countdown to everyone but Pchan's ban. Well played Pchan, you're outlasting everyone.

Also, I like how the Anti-Isla sentiment comes AFTER this incident. I have neither qualms nor particular praises for him or her, but I was under the impression that he or was the one Mod you all worshiped.

ITT: People whose opinions do not matter in the least. Isla has done a lot of good for BG in terms of banning and modding where others were far, far, far too lazy. Whether I agree with banning Thorny or not it doesn't change the fact that the sentiments of the person who can only be described as the worst thing to hit BG since StevenW should not be reflected upon us all.

You my friend are a douchebag with your fucking bullshit attitude that noone should care about anything if it isn't OMG REAL LIFE HURF. People have friends on this board and it sucks to seem them get banned, period. I don't know the guy at all but I still think its unfortunate that he got banned.

I didn't see the shit storm that created this banning but all I know is BG lost my 2nd favorite poster on these boards and it is unfortunate. Whether you think he was a dick or not it was nice being able to ask a question and get a real fucking answer with maff and all. Being able to have a reliable source of good information is really a great thing and if you give two shits about this game you will miss having that encyclopedia one day.
