I hate that stupid 3 day rule thing. If I like someone and he calls me/texts me/IMs me/FB chats me/etc. the day after we meet I'm super excited that he even called/whatever'd me in the first place. If he waits 3 days he's being a pussy or lazy in my mind.

This pretty much, I'm a straight forward person and I think if you have to play games it's kind of retarded. If they are going to base the whole decision on whether to pursue a relationship with you based on when you call I think they have their priorities screwed up.

I think the whole rules thing is picked up during that high school phase when people are just starting to date and interact in a social setting. People tend to pickup alot of BS stuff from high school, especially from a social standpoint. When everyone gets a bit older and past that part of their life they tend to look back and say wow I was really naive in high school and if I knew the shit I knew now etc.

The 3-day rule works for people who aren't socially experienced.

The -concept- of the 3-day rule is still apt, but it's up to the person to decide if a period of time is necessary, and what the appropriate period of time should be.

If a girl gives me her number and I intend to call her and set up a date or w/e I think to the next night I'm available and tell her I'll call her the day before. For example, when I met my current girlfriend I was actually going out of town for 3 days. Knowing this I told her something along the lines of "hey I'm defiantly interested in getting together, but I'm actually going out of town for a couple of days I'll call you Wed. (or w/e day it was I was gonna get back in town)."

I like doing this for two reasons. First I don't like to play games, and second I'm a little shy and have a hard time "cold-calling" someone I just met. So this way its kind of like an appointment in my mind and it makes me more comfortable when calling to set something up.

Indecently, she texted me that night after I left the bar saying it was nice meeting me and what not, so not to be rude I texted her back saying something similar and ttyl. I probably threw a smiley face in there too cause we all know bitches love smiley faces. Otherwise I probably would have just waited to Weds to call her.
