Mouse Issue

My brothers mouse stop working for what seems like no reason. The pointer stays in the middle of the screen.

I've tried reinstalling mouse drivers, changing to a different mouse, checked for viruses, checked for windows update and nothing worked.

Anyone ever heard of this happening.

I've had this problem w/ optical mouses (yes, mouses not mice for computer peripherals). It was usually related to the tracking laser losing connectivity w/ the PCB board; the cheap ones are glued.

you've already tried multiple mice? are they all ps/2 or USB? if ps/2 are you plugging into the right port (green)? if USB have you tried different ports?

Appreciate the answers, but it was a problem with the bios. Seems kinda weird to happen out of nowhere but I guess thats just how it is.
