It all depends on what you're buying from BBY, cause the discount is 10% above cost. But yeah, it saves you a good deal on cash.

The Nismo 370, is a sports car in the truest sense. Good cars, good sports cars, but has limited practicality. Both the stock 370 and the Nismo are INCREDIBLY rough rides. They are not cars that by most normal people, can be used as a daily driver. More of a weekend driver. The Nismo is a track ready car and feels that way. Very rough, not many luxury features. The stock 370 can give you some luxury but is still an incredibly rough ride when compared to other cars in that segment. The Cayman is a very very good car. The materials and it's setup makes it a sports car with all the right elements and feel, yet is comfortable enough to be a daily driver.
Personally I'd go with the Cayman because Porsche quality really can't be beat and should you decide to mod it, you can transform the car into a very capable sleeper on the street. Even used, Porsche's are built to last will rarely give you problems. Even if you can't afford to get a new one now, you can get a used one and slowly modify it to meet your needs, especially in the engine department. They can be turbocharged with some ease and it doesn't change the way the car behaves, which is something that I'd really like. Even the interior can be upgraded or stripped for a race car type feel depending on your budget. Several shops on the East Coast and West Coast like Sharkwerks specialize in that kind of thing and can probably get you the best deals on aftermarket parts.
Edit: The 370 and the Cayman really aren't comparable. What you may want to consider is a BMW 3 series, coupe if you want the sport feel. They have back seats for more practicality and offer more luxury similar to the Cayman. They have turbocharged engines and with a chip and ECU recalibration can add moderate amounts of horsepower with limited cost. They're also about half the cost of a New Cayman or Cayman S. Plus BMW's might offer more standard features than the 370 does since the 370 is an entrance level sports car. If you can't afford an M3 I think the 330 series is the best bet down after the Cayman. If you can spend 50k~ but not 70k~ I'd go M3 without a doubt. If you're only willing to spend around 30k~+ when you add all the 370's features, I'd look at the 3 series. New or used it would be a better car.
What you could also consider around 30k is the Mazda Speed 3, Subaru WRX or STI, and Hyundai Genesis. All of which are good cars with more practicality and frankly more fun to drive than the 370.
Edit2: The Nismo is a limited production vehicle. So you wont really be able to find a place to test drive it unless you get lucky.
The M3 was one of the other cars I was thinking about if he has the extra cash to fork up also the C63 AMG i believe is in the 50k range as well. Both are quite nice cars, I've driven the AMG and it's a ton of fun on a track and still great to drive around normally. Oh also if you want to spend less and still get something pretty solid the maxed out Genesis Coupe is surprisingly nice for it's price around 30k and has a ton of modding to really max it out. One of the more under rated cars out right now.
You can go on Youtube and check Edmunds inside line and hear alot of what I told you from professional drivers. They did comparisons of alot of these 30k~ cars.
Man, I don't know what you guys are talking about, I can feel every pebble I drive over in my car and I love it
Nizmo for sure; I almost bought that before I decided on a 330XI. Whatever you do, don't get that retarded convertible lol.
Convertible for a dude is about the lamest shit possible.
lol
Neo, since you seem to be going in the 2 door sports car type of route.
Seriously look into a Audi S4 (I'm not a audi fanboy or anything, subaru fan lol) but a buddy took me for a spin in his new S4 and i was blown away by it.
Check it out at least
Get the Nissan. Porsche will cost you more in the long run by far, and you won't be able to find a buyer (that will give you a decent amount) when it's got 80,000 miles on it and you're trying to sell it since upkeep on German sports cars is so damned expensive. My dad has owned Mercedes and Porsches, and I have a BMW, and upkeep on all three is absolutely out of this world.
also, get the nismo. the cayman is just a boxster coupe and honestly, who wants a boxster?
I heard someone has some money to spend in this thread
Here I am
I would choose Nissan over Porsche since the maintenance for the Porsche is incredibly expensive (at least where I live)
Btw, do any of you know a good webpage to buy used cars in Florida (Tallahassee)?
Ald
That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard. The Cayman is a baby 911, and is widely considered one of the best sports cars in it's segment. Also maintenance on the Porsche is going to be slightly more per year than the Nissan, but like I said before, they aren't the same class of car.
Well 911's are just smashed beetles! The new 911 turbo s is pretty slick get that instead of all of these! Or a GT3
Oh, without a doubt it's an incredible performer, and can definitely be modded to beat a carrera for less money...but you can make a 7 second civic, too
i mean, you're right its a great car but it just doesn't have the lineage of a 911. it was made to fill what porsche saw to be a void in its lineup and was gimped to fill that void...they could've made it a much better car if they had chosen to and they didn't...I guess you can say that's an alright thing but if I were to buy a porsche I'd pony up for the carrera
I still don't know what you're getting at. From a purist's standpoint, the audience that Porsche attracts, the Porsche Cayman S is a car that is more fun than it's closest comparable car in the GT-R. For the price there isn't a better car than the Cayman except GT-R
Well, I'm just gonna give you the W on this one, i'll never buy a cayman and neither will clarkson ( http://www.pureclarkson.com/jeremy-c...sche-cayman-s/ ) lol..no but really sorry it's just an opinion, I'm not really sure how I can defend it so you win
Of course it's preference but, there's gotta be some logic behind it. The Cayman is really bang for your buck and as close to a 911 as you're gonna get unless you get the Boxter Spyder. As far as Clarkson goes, He's never been a Porsche fan. He knows they're great cars but he's a Ferrari/MB guy.
Edit: Didn't mean to fight btw, I happen to like Porsche, but I read alot of car news/reviews D:
