I got my invite from here and it seemed to work (with some delay; 10 minutes-1 hour from the people I told this about).

I guess they gave a bunch of music people the ability to hand out mass invites, as I've seen Shakira with one too.

So Spotify is pretty much a free Rhapsody?

For 10(?) hours a month, you're also limited to 5 plays of the same song. For $5 you get all the music you want to stream and $10 you can use "Offline" mode (Which I think is basically having the music for aslong as you have the account) and your spotify on a mobile device.

The recording industry can go fuck themselves. Selling their shit at a fair price isn't good for the industry.

Native Last.fm support (including mobile scrobbling :3 ), huge library, solid Facebook integration, no uploading hassle; Spotify definitely has some advantages over Google Music. Not sure how I feel about $9.99 a month for mobile support though, that seems a bit steep. Though if Spotify had Google Music's playlist building functionality, I would be a lot less hesitant about subscribing.

So if you only care about having it on your PC, why exactly wouldn't you opt for free and just wait for a code? Or are there some perks I'm missing to premium?

Well, premium also gives you higher quality music (320 Kbps), and also allows offline mode where you can synch your music if you're going abroad (or somewhere else where you don't have access to the Internet). You can also listen to new albums before they're released (some albums have been up before they're released on iTunes), and you can also win concert tickets etc.

So which would be better, grooveshark or spotify? Both require premium accounts for mobile devices and my recent dubstep addiction needs a fix!

fucking thank you, Uzor, this shit's awesome lol

Is U.S. spotify experience or restrictions any different than Europes? And is this any different than Rhapsody except that we have a free version? Either way I'm loving it

No idea what the restriction is like in US; I assume it is the same as the European one, but I can't say for certain.

Also, here's a few playlists to get you started:

    RUB A DUB-STEP
    SIDEWALK SOUNDS
    Dancefloor Summer Hits 2011
    ROCK BANGERS
    OLDSCHOOL HIP-HOP
    DISCO:WAX
    The Definitive 60s
    The Definitive 70s
    100 Hits of the 80s
    100 Hits of the 90s

The playlists are from Sony Music Sweden, so there may or may not be some Swedish songs thrown in there.

Thanks! lol Can anyone do this? Create playlists and share them? I was just hoping there was something to do that really recently that didn't involve actually sending someone the songs with like an .m3u, but just saying "check out this playlist" and bam
