California also has A LOT of students... and many of them are learning English as a second language.

As far as talking about education and where what states fall where I am not even going to go there. Blame NCLB for the state of public education around the country.
It is important to note that when you see all these numbers about education getting thrown around, most of the time the results are cherry picked to skew towards whatever the person is trying to show/prove.

I always get a good laugh when other countries compare themselves to the U.S. most of the time its their best and brightest paired with our dirty, tired, masses.
