whenever someone mentions olympic accidents i think back to this beauty
or the one weight-lifter whose bowels tore when he did one of those lifts(not making this up, wasn't olympics, college or high school level iirc, pretty horrifying shit-no pun intended)

Crash for anyone who didn't see it.
I wasn't going to watch the video of the accident (I learnt my lesson years ago clicking on links to videos on the internet) but they showed it on CTV news tonight. Horrible, horrible, horrible. Certainly not an inducement to take up luge.
haven't been on the internet long enough if this bothers you etc etc etc
anyways, it is really sad. sucks also, wonder if this will change the sport safety wise.
Luge & Skeleton are really dangerous. This track can get athletes up to 145 mph, on average tracks are 135 mph. New tracks 3% of racers crash or flip, which is normal for new tracks.
Its amazing how fast those guys go. Crazy dangerous sport. The video and pics are sad.
Winter olympics always delivers with the ultraviolence.
Especially the downhill skiing.
Why isn't there a speed limit for this? I think you shouldn't be able to go over 60 unless you are passing or in the carluge lane.
Lex Luger died?!
See you in hell for posting these, etc.
Google currently has this for its homepage (kinda ironic lol)

so... am I a terrible person for wondering if they got to have an alternate take his place? >.>
I feel so wrong for laughing at those pictures.
Very sad.
