Yeah, was hoping we didn't get too overconfident. We watched the swiss/belarus game yesterday at work and the commentator said something about 'the winner of this game goes on to play the USA tomorrow' and a guy at work fixed it for him with 'the winner of this game goes on to lose to the USA tomorrow' lol. I'm afraid if we face canada again how the 2nd round will turn out...

Completely poor comparison - even if the United States would recieve AT BEST a "B" rating for today's game (and could potentially be a C), they still played much better defense than what Russia played up until I turned the game off. The United States plays all over people, in their face, taking away all their time and space and frustrating people, and Ryan Miller also plays much better than Nabokov just did.

Beating an average team by 2 and beating a good team by a half dozen doesn't neccesarily mean the latter would kick the former's ass. Luongo is playing very mediocre right now, certainly no where in the league of Hiller's performance today. Additionally, Canada isn't exactly playing shut down D. Switzerland had arguably the best defense of the tournament except perhaps Finland. They held EVERYONE to low goal totals. USA the first 3, Canada 3, and USA the rematch 2.

America invented Michael Jordan, Stone Cold Steve Austin, the nuclear bomb, handshakes, breast implants, FFM threeways, liberty, democracy, and the concept of using folding steel chairs as weapons. We'll kick Canada's ass again.

I think it's one of those things, where people start to watch it in a sorta ironic/joking "lol watching people throwing rocks down a line" and it kinda just expands into people actually getting into it. I know that's kinda how it was with the few people I know who ended up watching it.

Canada also won a bronze earlier today in a womens speed skating event so make that 4 for canada today. pretty amazing. Now if we can also take down the curling and hockey we will have had probably the best winter olympics for our country.

Sven Kramer I think his name is was DQ'd for crossing. His foot went over one of the pylons and he was coutned out. Sucks that little mistake takes you completly out.

Just saw the tape of the relay speed skating for women. Man those Korean coaches were pissed. I felt bad for the Korean women though, they looked really disappointed. All young though, they have at least two more Olympics in them.

Man, watching Women's Bobsleigh (which is already decided obviously, thanks NBC) and I can't remember what country, but there was a wicked crash (lol, I said wicked) where the person in the back basically had to eject. Looked nasty.
