I think the amount of alcohol that was consumed in Vancouver will fully make up for all of the Olympic costs lol

So was there any reason for the late medal surge by canada? Was it somewhat expected that they would do better in the second half going into the games?

These past 2 weeks have been an amazing experience. Never seen so many different nationalities taking pride in being Canadian. To all the people who were lucky enough to visit during these Vancouver Olympics, i hope you got to enjoy the hospitality and kindness of Canadians.

Anyone living in the UK or Russia, i suggest you make plans to check out the atmosphere. That alone makes the Olympics that special and a once in a life time experience.

It's because of all the partying everyone was doing, we just can compete better than everyone else hung over.

Bikpik, I've actually been trying to explain that myself for the past little while. But that hands down seems like the most accurate answer I've heard thus far.

On another note. Who the hell authorized the Vancouver Olympics to give away our most valued military secret. That giant Beaver was our secret weapon to claiming all of North America as our own!

Personally I think the flying moose will be a much more formidable opponent to our enemies

It's actually true, when I was in the navy we'd play softball games against the US coast guard, and they beat us the first day, but the second and third days we'd destroy them because we'd take them out drinking Friday and Saturday nights.

Interestingly enough, I read this little article shortly before reading this thread. http://www.time.com/time/world/artic...968544,00.html

A friend of mine was at the games and he was saying that it was like the entire city was in beer goggles, with every single person smashed. out. of. their. minds. He saw several of the team Canada hockey games, and people were absolutley insane. I live in Toronto and we both have seen some intense Leaf games, but apparently nothing compared to the drunken bafoonary that was in Team Canada's hockey games.

A lot of people were drunk during the Olympics. Granville Street (similiar to Younge street) was full of drunks, mainly because all the clubs are on that street. Robson Street had a lot of people, but most of them were families. A few idiots were arrested but considering the amount of people, incidents were kept to a minimum.

It was expected ahead of time. Most of the games Canada is good at were in the second week, especially things that have multiple heats such as hockey and curling.
