it was just a teaser, I think saying the director should kill himself is a bit premature. plus the comic-con trailer sounded alright. Can't tell how it looked since quality was shit, but yeah. I think it's a bit too early to be like OMG GARBAGE. look at the Xmen First Class and Amazing Spiderman threads. both of them got OMG HATE THIS IS SHIT, and then came out and were generally well received.

They needed to sell the ideas of 300 and Watchmen. Superman you just need to sell that you're going to do it "right", it doesn't need to be flashy for that. And while personally the trailer is somewhat of a let down, I like that they're including in the ideal of Superman and everything, I think that's important in the Superman story.

the footage from this trailer was what they played at my theater but the voice actor sounded more marlon brando's Jor'el with different dialogue.

Yeah, there's two versions of the same footage trailers. One has Kevin Costner (Jonathan Kent) talking, the other has Russel Crowe (Jor-El) talking.

I slightly wish they'd used something less recognisable for the music, that tune's sacred (reactions to Gandalf's death in Lord of the Rings).

Doomsday has to appear at the end of the second installment of a three-film buildup, possibly setting up the Eradicator and perhaps Mongul in the first two. They can't limit a threat of that magnitude to just one movie.
