Metallo sure, but not Brainiac. Superhero movies fall short when they try and weave two headliners into the same flick, which both Braniac and Doomsday definitely are.

I'd honestly love if the trilogy (assuming it goes to trilogy status) went something like this:

    1. MoS = Zod main villain, Brainiac cameo or reference.
    2. MoS 2 = Brainiac main villain, Doomsday reference.
    3. MoS 3 = Doomsday main villain, shit officially hits the fan.

Will it play out that way? Most likely not. Lex will be inserted somewhere in 2 if not have him as the main villain is my guess.

That's how Superman Returns failed hardcore, being a pretentious as shit two hour trailer for the next movie. Work on making this film a great stand alone title instead of already saving ideas for sequels.

i'm really not a superman fan at all but damn this looks damn cool.

and from the trailers it looks like they're gonna tie in a plausible childhood reason for why he wears that fruity outfit as an adult. leave it to nolan.

We all saw how that turned out with Batman and Bane. I'm a little pissed at Nolan for mailing it in on DKR. I know he's not directing Superman but the Nolan Bros and David Goyer ( writer from DKR ) are all on the Superman project.

We really don't know much about Zack Snyder's upcoming Superman film Man of Steel, other than the fact that Clark Kent goes from an Alaskan crab fisherman to Superman. Somewhere in between he meets Lois Lane and fights Michael Shannon as Zod. It's actually pretty impressive how well the studio has been able to keep a lid on the actual story of the film.

It looks like we might have a little more information on the film, and maybe one of the film's villains has been revealed thanks to a list of LEGO playsets that can be found on Screen Crush. That villain is....

    Spoiler: show
Black Zero. Check out the list below...

76000 Arctic Batman vs. Mr.Freeze – Aquaman on Ice
76001 Batman vs. Bane – Chase with Tumbler
    76002 Superman Metropolis Showdown
    76003 Superman Battle of Smallville
    76004 Spider-Man – Hunting with Spider-Cycle
    76005 Spider-Man – Mission at Daily Bugle
    76006 Iron Man Extremis
    76007 Iron Man Malibu Mansion
    76008 Iron Man vs Mandarin
    76009 Superman Black Zero Escape

Most of the set titles listed above seem to involve upcoming movies, but there's a couple of them such as Aquaman and the Spider-Man sets that don't seem to fit in with any movies. So you never know, there's a chance that the Superman Black Zero Escape set might not have anything to do with the movie.

Black Zero is the super-villain directly responsible for destroying Krypton, and in the comics, he came to Earth, threatening to destroy the planet as he did Clark Kent’s home planet. We previously heard that the war of Krypton would be a big part of the story, and if that's true it's easy to imagine that Black Zero could be involved.

That rumor is seriously grasping at straws. It's likely just a set piece for a MoS lego set. However, Black Zero could be referring to a few things.

    1. Zod's military force has been called "Black Zero" - in the comics it was a rebel group that was one side of the conflict in the civil war on Krypton.
    2. Black Zero has not only been an actual character, but it's been a virus that was developed on Krypton that eventually caused the destruction of the planet.
    3. Black Zero could also (going back to my set piece comment) be a ship that Zod and Faora use to get to Earth in the movie which also coincides with a clip from the teaser where Superman is walking through an opening in what looks to be some sort of alien location. One of the gifs in my signature shows this.
    4. There's also been rumors that DC is changing the name of the Phantom Zone to Black Zero, this could in the end be the name of the prison that Zod and Faora end up in.

It could also just be a toy that has the MoS stamp on it but actually has nothing to do with the movie. Example being toys for the Avengers movie, there were skrull toys as well as an entire set that included the Red Skull. Obviously neither of those were actually in the movie.

I'd like to see a Superman movie with Darkseid, before another Luthor/Zod version.

In a recent article with The New York Post, director Zack Snyder discussed some information regarding the highly anticipated Man of Steel. Snyder covers why he and the producers decided to redesign the Superman suit. In addition, he revealed how Henry Cavill might fit into a larger Justice League universe and shared info on what role Christopher Nolan played to shape the film.

Here is what he had to say about the iconic costume:
The costume was a big deal for me, and we played around for a long time. I tried like crazy to keep the red briefs on him. Everyone else said, ‘You can't have the briefs on him.' I looked at probably 1,500 versions of the costumes with the briefs on. If you look at the costume, it's very modern, but the relationship to the original costume is strong. You come onto a project like this, and you hear about modernization and you hear about bringing things forward to today, and all you can do is hope that it's going to look cool and different from anything you've seen before.
Snyder then mentions how Man of Steel could lead to more films, and perhaps even serve as the foundation for the linked universe with the impending Justice League:
We approach the film as a single endeavor. There are a lot of gears that have to turn in the world of commerce and the world of the mythology we create to facilitate more adventures for this character. We'll see what happens... I don't know how ‘Justice League' is going to be handled. Honestly, I don't. But ‘The Man of Steel' exists, and Superman is in it. I don't know how you'd move forward without acknowledging that.
Finally, Snyder talks a bit about Superman's legacy and reveals how the film was shaped by the influence of producer Christopher Nolan:
We tried to approach this as though there's never been a Superman movie before, but at the same time respecting the canon and mythology. There are the pillars that you have to respect, and I'm not about to break them. But it is fun for me to bend them and mess with them. There's a logic and concreteness that has to exist with Chris. You can't just do stuff because it's cool. He demands that there be story and character behind all of it, which I'm a big fan of.

It's fun. I can't wait for The Hobbit, so it will be fun to see our crazy Man of Steel trailer and then enjoy the Hobbit because that's going to be great. It just feels like a fun Christmas thing to do, drag the whole family out for that action.

I wish someone would instill this philosophy in Michael Bay.

I don't get the poster, is this movie another sequel like the last superman movie was, or is this a straight reboot?

Reboot. Also, the poster is a mock up of a few past comic covers.

First time seeing that cover of the new 52 Superman. That looks badass. I agree they should have used that as basis instead. Much more contemporary in style.

yeah that suit looks great. Reading the newest issue already made me wish they would've consulted with DC and made a movie with H'ell as supervillain
