Don't care either. Changes are fine if they are done well. And I wouldn't be surprised if thats true based on the last trailer.
That is a huge no no to me also.
I was worried when I saw in the trailer
Spoiler: show
People complain when all Hollywood does is the same old movies over and over. They complain when they try new things even if its with older stories. Can't win.
What exactly is new about that spoiler? aside for being different for the sake of being different theres nothing new and refreshing about it.
Spoiler: show
real edgy
...so its not new? Then why is everyone bitching.
Because you change the story for the worse.
Batman with both living parents would surely have made the Nolan movies better right?
^exactly
Except this opens up a LOT more stories for Superman. Superman is a great character, but he's too damn strong for all but a few enemies (Zod, Darkseid, Doomsday...) and thus movies can never really flesh out much.
What if this establishes a new Superman backstory and Superman returns to Krypton at the end of this film, then movie 2 shows Kal-El engaging in a Kryptonian civil war which kills all of his people and leaves him the lone survivor? Nets Superman in roughly the same place as his comic background, but allows us a much more interesting movie 2. And Superman bouncing back from such a tragedy would truly allow him to inspire people.
the new 52 already has quite a few stories that would make for great movies that do not call for such extreme changes, this shit is stupid
Except a movie based on krypton would be a boring ass war movie, with no powers..
lets make Batman a hobo that gets bit by a bat
Zod is just from an alternate reality, don't worry guys.

this is fucking stupid
meh. if the change is real, and doesn't resolve itself over the course of the movie I'll be disappointed, but it's not like it suddenly makes the amazing trailer look less enjoyable.
If they fuck up another superman movie I'm just gonna give up on big screen adaptations of the franchise. Don't even curr at this point, they have had two present day reboots to get it right.
Except witnessing his parents' deaths was a deciding factor in becoming Batman. Krypton exploding wasn't a factor in Clark becoming Superman.
Either way, I've never cared for Superman, so the rumor doesn't bother me. Besides, there's a possibility it's a new Krypton, or maybe it'll be destroyed before Superman's eyes making it more emotional.
