Think of the Roman gladiator times, if fighting to the death was broadcast today it would be the highest rated show of all time. Would then be the continuous top show if shown as a series.

I see your point. Just pointing out instead of rocks gettting thrown at the person it would be another object(shield, sword, spear, fist). And quite a few gladiator scenarios involved those condemned to death.

And no I'm not just pointing out a match that would have violence, but actual death. People today would eat that up.
