Valkyrie's Clogs are better for both MND-based Macc and landing any song, and Valkyrie's Cuffs are end-all for landing INT-based spells outside of Master Caster's Bracelet's range

None of that justifies Aegis over Excalibur or other good DD relics, you make a number of posts about efficieny and so on yet you are doing the exact opposite.

Not that it matters cause a 1/100,000 chance isn't worth entertaining but just pointing out your hypocrisy.

Notice I am also choosing Hauteclaire over several other useful items. Mog Bonanza (or the lottery, for that matter) is not about efficiency or doing what is right, it's about fufilling dreams. Say what you will, Aegis was always my long-term goal in FFXI, which I recently gave up as my play time plummeted and generally stopped caring.

tl;dr Fottiti attacks based on personal vendetta, Risk pulls a Stephano and says he does what he wants because he pays to play too

Its safer to assume that a person has and uses one of four mage jobs than to assume that they have a paladin that they actually get to use against one very specific target.

Morrigan's are only better half the time for MND-based Macc, Marduk's are never better for landing songs, and you completely ignored Valkyrie's Cuffs.

All that aside, just because Morrigan's are situationally better, and Marduk's are better, doesn't make the alternatives "junk". Hauteclaire is useful for one job against one mob in the game, and that single job isn't even the optimal choice for that single mob.

And if you're going to bring unnecessary douchebaggary into this, you should probably try and be right.

ITT: MND+10 is better for silence and MACC+5 > INT+6 MACC+4 for gravity and bind on more resistant targets. ib4 you can't bind or gravity colibri.
