I actually struggled on T1 and T2.

NIN remains my favorite job, and I'd love a Kikoku. However, having one wouldn't lead to playing NIN any more often, so what's the point? I almost hit that radio button anyway.

For T2... I would probably get more use out of VBelt, and given how little time I have to play and what I spend that time doing, I likely won't get one. Usu body would also likely be more useful (but not more useful than VBelt). But a DRing is a DRing. No matter how bad my odds on blet dorps, they're infinitely better than DRing odds.

I guess what I'm asking is: objectively speaking, which non-Homam selection is the "best" (for a job that can equip it) in the the Rank 3 group?

If you can't appreciate the usefulness of D.ring I'm sure you also can't appreciate the usefulness of chevy/umbra, darksteel subligar set/+1, merman gear, patronus etc. D.ring is thus the wrong choice for you anyway. Problem solved. GL getting your Vbelt.

If you're on a job that can't even get to -50% PDT or MDT without it (or in the case of DDs or PLD where you might prefer not to switch to staff unless petrified/terrorized or even stunned for a long time) what's the discussion?

If you're on a job like rdm or blu, D.ring still lets you have more -PDT and -MDT at the same time. Just think of all the mobs that could use an instant or near instant magic move right after hitting you; there's no time to switch between gear sets.

I think it's amazing just for the fact it saves me almost enough space to work as an extra gobbie bag on most jobs. Are you saying you don't like gobbie bags? >.<;

If you seriously only do stuff where you never die even if much less than a safe number of members showed up, PLEASE, think of the account buyers. Maybe some day you'll get bored, quit, sell your char and some hardcore dude who got banned will tank AV or PW with it.

My general thought is Nashira Seraweels. Outside of a possible 3% Haste augment on ASA legs, they're the only Haste option for RDM/BLM/SMN in the slot.

The magic skills + magic accuracy make them perhaps the most consistent piece for pure accuracy for RDM and WHM enfeebling. Once you drag dINT/MND to accuracy into it, there are cases where Mahatma would equal, and Morrigan's would better...but in general, they're a strong piece for that (especially coupled with the Haste for things like Gravity or Bind).
BLM has JSE that's a bit better, but I'd say the Nashira are still acceptable (5 skill + 3 Macc vs 10/11 skill).

While marginal, the basic MAcc + Haste is nice for things like Drain/Aspir on not-BLM (as BLM AF has +15 Dark Magic on the legs). Nice for RDM, or perhaps WHM/SCH, though again, not a huge thing.

Most everything outside of Homam there is pretty situational, so depending on what job you might consider something else may be better. If, however, you were considering RDM/BLM/WHM, you could certainly find some decent use for the Seraweels with few alternatives short of making ASA legs for 'em.

Nash gages are also great if you ever level and care about smn (can't get -1 perp in the hands otherwise.. nightmare gloves don't count).

Nashira Turban has -10% spell interruption rate and I hear that's a pretty cool stat. All the good things come in -10%.
