    New Headphones advice

So my headphones decided to break on me.
For the past 8 months i've been using AKG K412P headphones, and prior to that some other AKG headphones. Both of these have broke, so i'm looking for some that will be longer lasting.

However, due to several reasons i'm picky. I'm not spending more than £50 on them. (the ones i've been using were £30).

I have hearing aids, so i can't use earbuds. Furthermore, sound quality is particularly important to me, i thought the sound quality of the AKG was good but they seem to be weak headphones. Here is a link the ones i just broke http://www.akg.com/personal/K_412_P,..._psmand,1.html

And comfort is a necessity too, leather padded ear pieces would be best. i dislike the foam/sponge ones.

Does anyone know what specifications give the best quality? or any suggestions would be helpful too.

Thanks! ... and happy belated valentines day!

EDIT: headphones wanted for multiple use.. iPod and laptop!

I got myself a pair of Sony MDR-V150 a month ago, and I've been happy with them.

There are a lot of headphones topics over in Tech, just go read those threads and look for advice on over-the-ear models since you can't wear earbuds.

I got some Sennheiser HD205s from Amazon a while ago for £30-£40 and they work great. Noise-canceling and good quality compared to what I was using previously and the right can rotates which comes in handy.

Bulky though, and you may get weird looks on the street.
Cable is long enough to hang yourself on too, think it's 3m out the box.

This. I can think of at least three very long very detailed headphone topics just off the top of my head. There is probably a lot more.

Std answers would be if you are an audiophile and you want the best quality for sitting in your house listening you will want Sennheisers or Grado's in my opinion.

I've never tried Grado's but I've heard good things, but I use Sennheiser a lot and I've always thought they had amazing products.

For their price Grados are the best value in sound quality to cost ratio of any headphone I have ever tried. I would own a pair if I regularly used headphones for listening to music. The one caveat to Grados is in my opinion they are quite uncomfortable. Other people have had no problems with them in that regard though that is just my own personal experience.

Go Sennheiser, you'll never go back.

I own the HD 280 Pros and they rock. I have several friends who have bought Sennhisiers after trying mine out.
