Amazing Race 16 & Survivor 20

Anyone watching either of these? I really like Amazing Race but none of the teams this seaons were that great except maybe the grandmother/granddaughter and the father/daughter ones.

I thought it was hilarious when the father/daughter team when into someone's house and started painting without checking to make sure it was the right house. The guys working in there kept insulting their painting skills but never stopped them.

First time I've ever seen a team not complete the very first challenge and get eliminated.



Survivor is okay, except it's all repeat contestants and I don't know if I can take another season of Russell. It was pretty cool when the girl let her top go and she started running topless during the challenge.

I must admit, Survivor is a guilty pleasure of mine. I was stoked for this season. Lots of potential with the contestants they have on.

(I enjoy Amazing Race as well, but don't always keep up with it since CBS doesn't always seem to care enough about it to post the full episodes online).

Initially I think they did like one a year, but now I think they tend to do 2. Maybe even start a third, but you'll get some overlap.

These are two of my top 3 guilty pleasures as well. I love the fact that Miss Teen South Carolina is on the Amazing Race this year. I instantly found myself rooting for her, figuring she'd been through a lot in the last two years, and had a chance to redeem herself. My fiancee instantly started hating her and rooting against her. I didn't see anything in the show that shows me she's any stupider or smarter than your average 21-year old. I'm sure we'll see a little more as time goes by.
The first challenge of this season's Survivor was maybe the best challenge ever. A dislocated shoulder, a broken toe, a topless model flipping everyone the bird, Coach dragging Colby to the finish line.... I hear what you are saying about Russell, though, he was a lot of fun last season, but I think his egotistical camera chats have worn thin after two consecutive seasons. I just rolled my eyes at him saying he's the best ever last week.

I was bummed at the previews for next week. I hope it doesn't take him out (not sure how vague I should be since I don't know if people watch previews). He did seem a little out of sorts the first episode though.

I love russell and this season should be good in that if he goes there will be plenty of other interesting characters to make the show watchable which wasn't really the case last season.

and amazing race looks aiight I've never watched more than a few episodes(including this seasons premier) but like dude said this one has miss teen SC and that chick from Big brother so it might be cool.. but that chick won Big brother so it is kinda fucked up of CBS to give her more chances to win money

I never got into survivor, but watched an episode a while back and really liked it (one of the Finale's, even though I didn't get to watch long enough to see who won). If I was to download a season which would you guys suggest as one of the better ones? I assume that season 1 from 10 years ago wouldn't be the best, and watching the newest ones would probably not be a good idea either.

No, it was an elimination at the start. Which I thought sucked. :/

I only have one favorite for this seasons Amazing Race, it's the granddaughter/grandmother team. Otherwise, I'm interested in seeing what kind of "mistakes" the cowboys and Miss Teen South Carolina will make.

Last season's was really good. I also thought Fans vs. Favorites (season #16) was solid, it had some amazing tribal council moments. The guy who tracks Survivor for Entertainment Weekly recently ranked his favorite seasons here: http://popwatch.ew.com/2009/12/17/su...best-to-worst/

I think season one, while fascinating at the time, would probably not age very well. There was really only one player doing much strategy that season as nobody understood the game, and if I remember right, from about 10 people left to about 4 people left, it was very predictible. The best seasons (IMHO) are the ones where you have a bunch of people strategizing against each other, and there's constant and frequent blindsides.
