You name the most gimmick fight post-Ulduar for why warriors and paladins mitigate more? Add tanking was designed for a shield tank, simple as that, not a big deal.

It is 100% easier to gear up a druid tank. They just need leather gear and can use tank or dps offpieces. Warriors and paladins need to be using tanking gear in just about every slot to get into a raid, which are far more rare and harder to find. You will find epic leather for every slot in heroics, there are no tanking bracers other than 200 from OK and 213 from SIXTY emblems. As mentioned the only shield between 200 and ToC is from a normal 5-man not as many people farm.

Druids can utilize more gear for a suitable tank set, so it's far easier to initially gear them up, hands down no question.

Whatever, my point was it's easy to gear up nowadays. Druids don't need defense stats or plate gear, so fine, it takes them a few days less.

And there are a billion threads about "WHY WON'T X DROP FOR ME, F THIS" on the wow forums. The shield is a 15% drop rate according to wowhead, and it's from a normal dungeon so there's no lockout restriction. Hardly "annoying" if you put any time into it. On top of that, it's not like you can't skip it and tank ToC in a titansteel shield wall.

Insta, 5mins dungeons = Have a pretty geared (doesn't have to be a 6k gs crazy ass motherfucker) ret pally and a healer who knows how to hit 1, 2, 3, and maybe 4. Queue and tank and healer. 5mins later you have 4-8badges and some gold and maybe some enchanting materials. Divine storm in AoE pulls is /broken/. I pretty much kept my friend alive via riptide. WHo needs tanks.

The person commented on 30min queues to get into the dungeon. Which makes sense as you must be 80 to queue for HoR, must have already completed Forge and Pit first and most likely are only in the HoR queue for one particular item, which just so happens can be multiple other plate classes desiring that shield.

I recently went through this, and yes it does happen. I was queued up for both tank and DPS and it still took 15-30 minutes to get a group for this. Just glad I got into a run where no one else needed the shield.
