Is Stanton in AA or AAA? I forget.
    AA

Marlins AAA is located in the PCL, which is the second biggest hitters league in all of baseball behind only the CAL league (Advanced A). If he ends up going to AAA, his power numbers likely improve even more haha.

Likely won't see him in the bigs for another month though because of Super 2

Ah okay, and how old is he? Not that it's a huge issue seeing as Heyward is only 20, but was just curious. He sounds like he's tearing it up, though. When he's moving up?

If you don't go easy on the Mike Stanton updates I will respond with Freddie Freeman. He is tearing up AA, cool. When he gets called up you can start tweeting about him every 5 minutes.

Also remember how I quoted that Grienke would pitch to these amazing stats and have an 0-16 record? He lost over the weekend 1-0 to the Rays. LOL

He's 20 too, 3 months younger than Heyward.

I'll go easy on them when he stops hitting home runs

And please respond with Freddie Freeman's .261/.313/.457/.770 line

I don't think you understand just how historic Stanton's power is.

Not to throw cold water on you but can he hit a homer in AAA before we start calling his power historic? Plenty of guys feast on the weak pitching of AA and AAA and don't do jack in the majors. Exhibit A: Shelly Duncan

Who cares if his power is "historic" in AA? It gives you reason to be optimistic, sure, but can't you at least wait until he is doing it in the majors to sing his praises?

And I will respond with Freddie Freeman's modest stat line if you keep posting Mike Stanton stuff! (I don't know what that icon means)

Just as planned, though I have no clue what that means here.

And yeah.. it's AA. I mean sure it's not Single A, but it's still only AA. Let's wait until he hits AAA and posts those exact numbers before we celebrate his historical bit.

You don't understand the difference between a 20 year old and a 27 year old?

The power he has at his age is historic, yes. Rarely rarely do players of his age have his kind of power. His minor league career ISO is now at .290 at 20 years of age. It is historic, yes.

Even MLB's official twitter is following him hahaha

Like how Jesus Montero (age 19) went .317/.370/.539 with 9 homers before he got hurt last year at AA? Yeah, no one has ever hit like Stanton ever..

What's the likelihood of the Mets being willing to part with Jose Reyes this year? Are they likely to pick up his option at the end of the year?

11 million for him is a good deal assuming he's the same player he was a couple years ago. He's still on the good side of 30 too, I don't see any reason why they wouldn't even if he doesn't have a great year.

Uh, Mike Stanton's SLG is .015 points lower than what Montero's OPS was. Stanton's OBP is almost what Montero's SLG was.

And, I did not say no one has ever hit like Stanton. I said it's historic. Only a couple players a decade show this kind of power as teenagers. Last decade it was Griffey, A-Rod, and Andruw.

No, it's not. It's AA. Nothing has ever been, or will ever be, historic at the AA level. That's all I'm saying.

Just to make this clear, you are taking a sample size of eighty two at bats at the AA level and putting him in the same sentence as two hall of famers and another great player. You have to forgive us if we think you're going a bit overboard.

    1263 PA, actually

Power numbers speak for themselves. It's not a subjective argument.

It's not just me saying it. It's what is being said everywhere and what's been said past several years: It's very rare for hitters of his age to have this power. Not the power from this year, the power he's displayed for three years running. What he's doing right now is just obscene and obviously he's not going to keep a 1.400 OPS.

Oh okay, now we're counting single A stats.

I'm glad he's having a great couple weeks, more power to him. I hope he lives up to his reputation.
