lol Pedroia... quite the mouth on the young man
How cruel, especially considering the extremely winnable game we just lost.
lol 5 home runs for the Red Sox, what are they stealing signs or something? Ridiculous.
BIG YOUK
McCann is a faggot. With the Bases loaded he tries to lean into a curveball so blatantly that it's funny. Did he honestly think he'd get away with that? Great Start from Pelfrey after all that talk about shoulder stiffness. I was surprised to hear that Wilpon ended up showing up but no one got fired surprisingly lol.
Ryan Howard is starting to heat up. Grand slam tonight off a lefty.
No it wasn't lol. It was a huge looping curve and he waved his elbow into the pitch come on. He's a slugger there's no reason for that kind of nonsense. I wish to god it would have hit him and fucked up his throwing elbow. I just thought it was funny that he thought he could get away with that. He should have been more worried about hitting Feliciano who was clearly struggling.
Home Run Derby takes too long /Joewest
You know what, it's really not that big of a deal. I just think that's a real desperation play for a quality hitter, a guy you don't expect to get a cheapy ya know? After dropping 4 in a row to the Marlins because we beat ourselves, I want to really get beat when we lose. It was a good clean game and crisp game that didn't need to be dumbed down by a play like that. That's all that got me mad really, I think McCann is too good a hitter to be that desperate.
To be clear, I'm not advocating leaning in to get beaned. Would you have felt different if the pitch had been further inside, and McCann had simply not tried at all to get out of the way? It was just an overraction calling him a faggot for a play that didn't even happen.
So let me get this straight. Maybe someone can help me understand this. Why, in a game you are trailing by 2 runs at home against the Red Sox, with 2 outs, do you bring in Javier Vazquez to pitch to one man? Did someone not tell Girardi that his win probability at this point is around 2%? What good can come from bringing in Javy in that situation? Does he want him to be embarrassed? Give him an excuse to not throw him against the Mets?
My conclusion: Joe Girardi has officially lost his mind.
Him not moving was fine by me, I'd actually like to see more of that from a guy like Wright so they'd stop coming inside on him or so he could deal with the inside pitch. He Bails everytime something gets near him. I just think the McCann waving of his arm was really uncalled for. If it had gotten away and been well inside and hit him then so be it, good play not to move because he wouldn't have been able to get out of the way if it was any further in.
Woooooow Arod. Wow wow wow.
