Reds are now 0-5 when Rolen doesn't play at all, and guess what, his replacement at 3rd today gave up an error in the 9th that probably contributed to this shit.

By the way only 4 games since 1977 have been won by the home team when trailing by 7 or more runs entering the 9th inning. Congratulations Dusty Baker on your accomplishment on blowing a 99.9% win expectancy!
Er, fuck, they were only down 6 runs. FINE, he blew a 99.8% win expectancy (serious, btw)
Dominant outing by Blanton.
The grandslam went off his glove? god damn man
yeah. I still think it would have made it out if he hadn't been there, but I thought it was caught.
Gonna call out Chipper here on something i noticed a few games ago and pretty much the whole season so far. He switched from a 34oz to a 32oz bat for the start of a game a few days ago. He proceeded to crush a ball on the outside of the plate the other way and almost hit it out.
Apparently he didn't like that and went back to his 34oz bat with which he went something like 0-8 with a few walks. The same pitch he crushed, he's now rolling over the top of for weak ground outs or striking out on. When asked he said the lighter bat felt like a tooth pick.
Now c'mon, it's time to swallow that pride or bat lower in the lineup.
I agree. Dude needs to realize the dude's old and any help he can get, he needs to take advantage.
I'm going to the Phillies Red Sox game tomorrow...should be a good one. I wish I had a Werth jersey to wear because I stumbled upon an gnarly fake beard that I would like to wear with it.
I'll probably just wear a blue/maroon throwback Schmidt jersey. Keep an eye out for me cause Phillies cameramen and Sarge like to point out throwbacks on TV for some reason.![]()
John Maine faces one batter and has to leave the game to injury, and Manuel loooks pissed like maine knew he was hurting before the game started. God damnit. We have 2 JUST FUCKING 2 proven starters in the rotation now who can actually go out there and pitch. I really really hope Takahashi can be productive as a starter.
It'll be interesting to see who does well this weekend with the Yankees vs Mets, because both teams are playing like absolute crap right now.
hallelujah, Ben Zobrist has hit a HR
At this point I'm mostly rooting against the Mets despite being a lifelong fan. The worse they do the sooner we can be rid of Manuel which while it won't help turn things around right away it would at least be a start in the right direction.
Ok so John Maine was pulled from the game because the pitching coach noticed that his mechanics were off and he was throwing as hard as he had been last two starts. So they essentially pulled a starter for an undisclosed and unknown "injury". I don't even know what to make of this. How can he just be yanked for no reason? I mean really wow.
If the Brewers don't win tonight, they might be out of it before the All-Star break. People around here keep calling for Macha's head, but I don't really think its his fault. Three of his original starting five pitchers are trash (Bush, Davis, Suppan), Gallardo and Wolf aren't pitching all that great, and the bullpen is already worn. Hoffman has blown 5 saves so far, only one game that we wound up winning.
The only thing I can fault Macha for is how much he changes the starting lineup. Even if he has the same people in it, they are always in a different order. Even tonight he has Prince batting third and Braun fourth.
Fuck Shields and Liriano
And Kevin Gregg.
Lol wow, anyone see that diving tag by Pena?
"tag" because he never touched him(okay maybe he grazed the leg but there's no way the ump saw that)
No offense but that's a pretty dumb mentality. Manuel being gone isn't going to get Reyes to start hitting or fix Wright's propensity to strike out or make the rotation any better. It's a problem with the players.
