1B - Howard - Pujols

More towards Howard but where the hell is the power? People are like "well Howard's average is up and strikeouts are down!". Sorry but I'm not ok with 8HR and a small amount of doubles from Howard in nearly two months of play. I'm probably overreacting but geeze. I'm just hoping he gets hot soon and does some serious damage to the opposition.

Edit: Not that it's all on Howard. All pitchers throw to him is slop that gets called for a borderline strike. Even when he holds up on it and checks his swing it usually gets called. He's lucky to get a single fastball in an at bat let alone a good pitch to hit.

Yeah he's hitting over .300 right now, but it's a empty (for him) .300, he has just a a .836 OPS right now, and that's fueled by a .370 BABIP. When that goes back down, if he doesn't raise his walks or his power, he's gonna be real bad.

I think Mike Leake should get to go. His WHIP isn't great, but an ERA under 3, 4-0, for a guy straight out of college is nice.

Howard and Pujols have combined for 16 HR and 20 doubles. How are the rest of the big name power hitters across the league doing?

Howard slow starts every year, then around the all star break just goes on a monster tear. I honestly wouldn't be surprised to see him campaign to start the season in June just because of that.
