Pretty much anything where they let the general public vote is going to be a popularity contest. All stars, American Idol (which, for the record, I hate, but you can't tell me people vote for best talent on that show), hell even political elections are one big popularity contest anymore.
Not that there's a better solution for a lot of these things, but still.
Would be pretty egregious for Rios not to make it, hopefully the coach will bring him.
It's Joe Girardi, I doubt he even knows that Rios is having a good season.
Glaus = money
You realize they should have called a rain delay before that even happened. It was pouring.
Thanks for ruining a good pitching matchup, Mother Nature![]()
Get Cole Hamels into a game long enough to give up a huge home run in downpour. Awesome. That guy has no luck whatsoever. That's all the Braves will need. Hamels will be saddled with the loss after a 0.2 IP start.
Glaus hit the homer in the downpour, I don't see how luck was involved.
The fact that he can't go back out and try to redeem himself is shit luck. He's got shit luck.
Hudson's coming off of TJ Surgery some time ago, and Hamels is not, yet Hudson is out there and Hamels is not. Wat.
Phillies baseball.
GOD DAMN IT HOFFMAN I TOLD YOU TO TRIM THOSE SIDEBURNS
At least it wasn't a blown save.
Votto is 4-5 and a double short of a cycle.
Who's not going to be frustrated when a game gets delayed for rain right after one of their better pitchers tosses up a 3 run home run when a team is struggling to put any kind of offense on the board?
Getting frustrated is fine, but making silly excuses(like blaming the rain delay) is just annoying.
Bozo's "The braves are only in first because..." post ticked me off. The Braves are in first because they are playing great baseball. If the entire Phillies team eats bad shellfish you can complain. Hot/cold streaks are part of the game.
Braves lost nine straight. The few Braves fans here bitched (me for sure) about how their offense was shit because it was just that. Shit. I don't remember blaming any weather or random circumstances for it. I just thought our offense was god awful.
I know it's tough to slump, but everyone goes through it.
You should re-read some of your own posts. Let's gloat about a .5 game lead over a slumping Phillies team that's without their shortstop for the 2nd time this season. You can throw in Polanco's nagging elbow injury in there too no thanks to Tim Hudson. Polanco was in a terrible slump after getting hit and now he probably won't be back till Friday.
